I'm not surprised given the appalling average level of historical knowledge in this country. How-ever the the group doing this should have known better too. Know your demography and such. The Raelian movement's website made me chuckle a little. I'm open to the idea that our species may have been genetically tampered with by an offworld species, but I'm also not an atheist (I'm more of an Agnostic). Atheists typically shun any sort of intelligent design, possibly even that of an offworld species. It's attempting to inject the idea of a religion, which any true Atheist would vehemently resist. If you're following a religion, you're not an atheist. Nice try Scientology... I mean Raelians.

Hmmm there is some scientific evidence of alien visits in Earths history and it could well explain a few things.
You don't need to believe in some God or other for that, if anything its more scientific than abrahamic faith

Little update: The texts are what I thought they were. They're pretty heavily focused on Judeo-Christian influences with a sprinkling of ETs for flavor. I got about as far as these alleged ETs bioengineering grasses before Dinosaurs, and that was when I stopped reading. That was enough for me considering grasses didn't make their grand entrance until about 2-4 million years before the mass extinction event at the end of the Cretaceous period. There's fossil evidence to prove it. Thank you Science.
