The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

I know there have been some talks here in the US by both politicians, Military, and agency officials on reduced military spending. What I'm wondering is if this may be a sign that they're nearing the point of automated war. Drones and robots are constantly being perfected. With more of them in active use, it would seem that there would be less need for soldiers. Less soldiers means less gun production, food, medical supplies, etc. Is this just a PR attempt from Panetta and military industrial complex? I'm by no means supporting the current spending practices. How-ever, it's often been proven that those with vested interests play both sides.

To all progressive endeavors great or small, come unforeseen benefits on a scale larger than most give pause or contemplation of.

but to be fair, bombs and planes, tanks, boats, training.. they have a lot of college degrees with training, so it cost a lot especially if they want the latest stuff. you know, compared to schools and teachers and equipment, books etc. im not surprised at all by this.

Violence is not the answer, it is the question. the answer is yes.
