The police did come and protect this kid, her family and other local Christians from the rabid mob.
Knowing that move would not be popular.
They then obviously pursued the case and uncovered it was all bollocks and arrested the Imman.

I signed a petition last week to save this girl from this BS, glad to hear sense has been restored and the government did something right for one of it's citizens for once. instead of allowing religious opinion to get in the way of being popular with these nutjobs.

It is interesting to notice that the Mob will still get their sacrifice though. Only now it will be the Iman who suffers their justice rather than the lil girl. Preferable? yes of course, but its still a sad day when anyone gets nicked for these stupid blasphemy laws.

If he didn't then the govt would probably have done nothing about it.
That said afaik that girl is still in custody.

It just goes to show how much power psychos in authority can have over others. Zubair only overcame the fear because the girl was obviously an innocent victim. When will we let go of the dogma? :/
