They can apparently do this without the knowledge or consent of their residents/tenants and have been doing so for quite some time.

Long as they aren't actually in or pointing at the cubicles or urinals, I don't think there is a great deal that can be done. It's also a bit naive to think that this doesn't happen in most public restrooms these days, anyway. Not saying that's right ofc, but it is the way it is. It's a little late for "outrage" at this point, perhaps.

Is it really too late though? I'm willing to bet that this situation in schools is not known to the majority of parents. If people became aware en-mass, there'd be a percentage of them who'd just go along with it, due to stupidity or blind faith in the schools knowing best, but I'll bet there'd be a lot of people up in arms.

This is how it works though...tippy-toe. See, most governers will simply turn around and say things like "the toilets are where most anti-social behaviour/bullying happens" or "none of the cameras or pointing at the cubicles, obviously" and most folks will be placated. The fact that they are in the toilet in the first place, is what people should be really worried about. I mention adult restrooms as this is now fact for most of us. We weren't asked or consulted: just is the way it is.

Maybe that's why they've shoved them in school toilets now?

For many in the UK at least, to be in 'public' now means you are being watched and in most instances it could be said that we asked for it. Certainly, we never put up much resistance, did we?

I don't see how they can justify that stance though, whilst at the same time banning parents from film their kids at school sports events and Christmas plays etc, specifically, they say, because of the danger of paedophilia. It's not logical.

Ah hang on! Shit! They can say they've screened the staff, but they haven't screened the parents.
