Ministers have defended controversial plans to ban cheap deals on booze, insisting they would save hundreds of lives every year.

The coalition is proposing a minimum alcohol price of 45p per unit, and an end to multi-buy offers at supermarkets and off-licences. Officials estimate the move will save the taxpayer millions of pounds a year by cutting crime and health problems linked to binge drinking.

As we know politicians are only motivated by greed,perhaps in the long term if prices keep rising it could be influence from their drug dealer friends and they want people to shift from alcohol to other types of drugs?

On the other hand a dedicated drinker can create alcohol at home so easily and reasonably cheaply with home brew kit.

I'm really fucking unhappy about this idea. Time to write a stiff letter.... on cardboard.

I propose that under 30s pay more, & over 30s are heavily subsidised by under 30s.
That way, I can still buy cheap booze, & get under 30s to pay me to sell it to them at a lower price.
Winner.
