It's why the MSM have been regularly focusing on portraying people on benefits as scroungers for the last few years, to be largely despised for living off the sweat of the public's brow. And so very many people have fallen for it that it's frightening.

It creates an outside influence to bear responsibility for piss poor wages and the general cost of everything. That people can't see through it leads me to suspect that they don't want to see through it. They just want a scapegoat and the media provides the targets for them.
Shame.

They just quite simply don't know any better.

Yes, and breaking that conditioning will be a bugger of a thing to do. I can only slap so many people in one year. :D

I have a friend that lost his right leg (up to the hip), big chunks of his right arm and bits of his head in a motorcycle crash a few years back.
In the 8 years it took to get his insurance payout he was living on hefty benefits and having to dope himself with large amounts of morphine to ease the pain. He has a prosthetic leg contraption that he can wear for a very short while and has a kind of sling seat in his wheelchair to support him.
Every 6 months the social would visit to assess him and see if his condition had improved. Unsurprisngly a new leg failed to sprout and the constant pain hadn't lessened so he always 'passed' the interview.

ATOS may have a different opinion :(

Thankfully he got his insurance payout last year so he no longer has to deal with the likes of them. :)

I pity anyone who has contact with those fucks.

ATOS Doctor Found Dead Man Fit For Work
NOVEMBER 21, 2012
by samedifference1

Updated:
Thankfully, this is satire. However, sadly, I believed it. I think that says a lot about the true situation at ATOS assessments. That’s why I’m going to leave the article here. You can use this as an open thread to discuss ATOS.

In a shocking lapse of judgement last week, an assessor from ATOS Origin placed James Wright, 62, in the ‘fit for work’ group mere moments after he had suffered a fatal stroke.

“It was a nightmare,” Rosemary, Mr. Wright’s widow, stated. “The doctor assessing James asked him to stand up, so he did before slumping into a squatting position. The doctor took one look at him and said, ‘I’m placing you in the Work Program.’

Then he got up and shook James’s shoulder, and when he fell over, said that he’d be back when James had finished his ‘play-acting.’ It was quite obvious that he was dead.

What’s worse is that I received a letter from the DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) this morning informing me that James’s Job Seekers’ Allowance had been stopped because of his non-attendance at his work experience. I’d already informed them of his death the day after it happened!”

It seems to this reporter that ATOS assessors are so busy licking Tory boots that not only do they not notice when people are dying, they also don’t realize when people are actually dead. Of course, Mrs. Wright is a retired State Enrolled Nurse, whereas ATOS assessors receive no medical training whatsoever. Perhaps that’s why the man made such an egregious error.

samedifference1.com/2012/11/21/atos-doct...ad-man-fit-for-work/

I learned today of someone I know being assessed by these asses. As a result, they announced that his allowance for purchasing prescriptions was being stopped. When he looked into it further, he found that parts of the assessment conversation that had been recorded in writing, and used to make this judgment, were completely falsified..

Therefore, he said he was going to appeal against it. They told him that he could appeal, but doing so would mean that his housing benefit would be stopped while the appeal was in progress!!!

They told him it would take 6 weeks. He was adamant that he wanted to lodge an appeal because of the lies on the document. After instigating the appeal, he was then informed that it would take, not 6 weeks, but 1 year for it to go through. The last our mutual friend knew of the situation was that he was on the verge of being evicted from his flat, due to his housing benefit being stopped.

That's right - he's about to be slung in the street, because they''ve stopped his housing benefit, because he's appealing against a decision to withdraw his prescription allowance, due to documents containing a fictitious conversation he had with them!!! How fucked up is that!

Would his story be something the local rag would want to hear about? That's what they're for after all.

It's worth a try - who knows? My sister's been helping him write to his local MP. It remains to be seen whether that has any effect, but I'm not holding my breath.

That is truly fubar Gilly. The only thought I can offer is that sometimes it isn't best to face things head on. Official channels are obviously not working for him (there's a surprise). Maybe he could go round or above the obstacle if you get my drift.

I think it's well worth a try. Some local MP's - the lifers who never climb through the ranks - can be handy. If all you've got is camera candy he/she might not be much help.
