This is starting to annoy me. Happens about once a month. Round & round & round & round all fucking night & keeps me awake.
Keeps flying right over the top of my house.
I'm pretty sure it's a drone. It has a distinctive sound to it that doesn't sound like a normal light aircraft.

Heard it!

Started a few months before I left blighty...I remember the first time was a Sunday night, that's why it stood out. I lived in Brinnington, just inside the M60 loop and right underneath one of the approach flight paths of Manchester airport, so I was used to hearing night noise. Because it was a Sunday it was quiet so it stood out, I heard it as something huge though, not a drone. Mainly due to it being a very bass sound, not ulike the one you posted.

Twice in recent weeks that very sound has gotten my attention here too! Round and round, thats what it did here too. Is that really what a drone sounds like?
It stood out like a sore thumb because I hear everything out here in the country and hardly sleep worth mentioning.

I've never heard a drone either.... this sounds like a cross between a propeller plane & a helicopter. It's weird & v. loud.
This has been going on for a while but it usually starts much later into the night.

I've just heard a brief snippet of a drone on youtube & it didn't sound like that.... that sounded more waspy.
The sound of the engines on whatever this thing is sound much more 'pure'.
I've watched it constantly circling round it's totally clear tonight but of course it's too dark to make anything out other than a few flashing lights!
There is a big red light permanently on underneath it though that looks quite menacing.

I literally got stoned there once whilst stoned!

A Brinny chav outing started pelting us for being from 'the other side' (we were 3/4 Brinny residents sat on the Reddish bank), I was sat with mrs me who is 5 foot nowt, her best mate from Greece who is timid as fuck and my best mate at the time, a gay lad who wasn't generally camp but, as I found out, definitely was in times of stress! I was given the task of leading such a merry band to safety without crossing the river (that took us back to Brinny where we lived) because the chav stoners were on that side.

I tried to post that last post & it all went a bit funny! It wasn't until I went into the 'reply' button again that I found the post... weird.

I remember taking a microdot when I lived in Whalley Range because I was going to see 2001 A Space Odyssey at The Cornerhouse...
I had fuck all money apart from entrance fee so I walked it through Hulme. 3 kids - only about 10 or 11 started giving me shit then started throwing bits of bricks & rubble at me chasing me down Stretford Rd.... no choice but to run!
Came up massively after that!

There's constantly light aircraft and helicopters flying around here. I'm in quite a rural area and there's not much round here, but there's been a lot of people busted for growing skunk. We're also under a flight path for the chinooks and other military aircraft. I don't think I'd notice a drone.
