I was thinking of buying a pressure cooker, not sure if it's worth the hassle now :bs:
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

CLARIFICATION AND UPDATE

We found out through the Suffolk Police Department that the searches involved also things my husband looked up at his old job. We were not made aware of this at the time of questioning and were led to believe it was solely from searches from within our house.

I did not lie or make it up. I wrote the piece with the information that was given. What was withheld from us obviously could not be a part of a story I wrote based on what happened yesterday.

I wonder if they're just talking bollocks tbh, as I doubt a system capable of such data mining over such periods of time for such a large population is possible without ridiculous amounts of storage. We're talking a building full of terabyte hard drives ffs lol...

there's limits to what you can do with it, at the end of the day its their own stupidity that'll be their undoing imho.

tip of the iceberg imo... snowden wasn't even that high up. xkeyscore is what they let outsourced cubicle antfarms operate.

41 billion records in one month doesn't sound all that limited to be honest... plus, anything they think's worth keeping just gets shifted of to somewhere else going by what it says.

Content remains on the system for only three to five days, while metadata is stored for 30 days. One leaked document states: "At some sites, the amount of data we receive per day (20+ terabytes) can only be stored for as little as 24 hours."

However, NSA systems allow flagged data on Xkeyscore to be moved onto other databases such as Pinwale, where material can be stored for for up to five years.

Despite the short shelf life of data stored on XKeyscore in one month last year, the system collected at least 41 billion total records.

The cunts at the top know they can't take the internet away now so they're trying to control of it.

I don't think ppl get what I'm getting at :)

You are limited by the stupidity of the human design, thinking and idiot at the keyboard.

A prime example is the moronic questions asked and the gawping at a book collection,,,they sound that thick tbh the guys lucky he didn't say durka durka jihad. They'd have dragged him off to gitmo.

The only thing this is going to do, is teach real terrorists to avoid using the internet.
The only thing constantly searching through all this data is going to do is pre-occupy useless idiots with pointless jobs like this, going round making arseholes of themselves and at the end of the day serving a more sinister agenda for those who want to retain control of the populace, the real terrorists ofc, governance by terror/intimidation....which is precisely what this is.

Yes but surely that's ultimiately a problem for all of us given that they decide what does or doesn't fall into these categories and base those decisions on the information aquired by the 'useful idiots'. Who collects the information is irrelevant really, my concern lies with the 'why'.

If it intimidates people into not searching and reading controversial topics...well you get the idea.

I think that bolded statement is sleight of hand anyway, calculated to make people think - hey, good job they're being so industrious and thorough about this, because it doesn't matter how many instances turn out to be nothing, when, in fact, they're catching a terrorist cell plotting to blow us up every week as a result.

I don't believe they're apprehending 1 terrorist out of 100 weekly investigations as implied, or anything like that, or those instances would be getting endless media coverage.
