2) No, I just don't take shit from folks like you and you shouldn't bring other people's names into this when they are not here. Judging from your earlier "like last time" comment, it seems that your poinion of me was always low, so don't pretend that you have formed a new opinion based on this.

Well the word "you" can indicate plural, but I feel sure that wouldn't happen. The sentence you refer to started with "until" btw so face palm yourself with an open dictionary next time.

However, by saying "I'm not suprsised" that some people unconnected with this "got a new forum" you certainly indicated that you also think that my presence here is detrimental to the forum. So I am guessing that there is a chance that you would, if you could.

But anyway...let's leave Star Wars to Star Wars and Forum Wars to Forum Wars, eh?

I think this is amazing news!

No love for Star Wars here? Come on people!

The two pages of arguments in this thread alone prove that these movies and Lucas can still inspire arguments from Fanboys and Haters alike.

Gotta love that.

Interesting developements...
Disney-Lucasfilm Star Wars episodes VII, VIII, and IX (2012–present)

On October 30, 2012, as part of its statement that it had agreed to acquire Lucasfilm, The Walt Disney Company announced a Star Wars Episode VII "targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga".[1] Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger stated that Episode VII "will be followed by Episodes VIII and IX—and our long term plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years". Iger added that Lucas would be "creative consultant" on new Disney-Lucasfilm Star Wars films, and that current Lucasfilm co-chair Kathleen Kennedy would executive produce. In the same announcement, it was stated that, post-acquisition, Kennedy would become President of Lucasfilm and serve as brand manager for Star Wars.[1]

The Disney announcement makes no reference as to whether the story content of the planned episodes VII, VIII, and IX will relate to Lucas' earlier sequel trilogy plans. In fact, it states that Star Wars "offers a virtually limitless universe of characters and stories to drive continued feature film releases" and refers to "ts universe of more than 17,000 characters inhabiting several thousand planets spanning 20,000 years offer[ing] infinite inspiration and opportunities".[1]

As I said, I am not a great fan of the franchise, but I welcome the news.

Rather more fantasy and sci-fi than another series of action movies (e.g. Expendables) or yet another crappy horror movie getting increasingly sicker to try to entertain an increasingly numb audience (Human Centipede).

Agreed Mikey. At least it's not another Jason Statham movie.

If I have to see him running from something that will inevitably explode again,I think i'll eat a bullet.

From what I've heard the next three SW movies aren't going to be based on the sequel books that were put out (The Thrawn trilogy),nor will they involve many of the first trilogies' characters (Skywalkers and Solos).

I'd like to see them do something like the Legacy comics which went WAY into the future and had Luke's great great great grandson (I think) struggling with the Dark Side/Light Side thing.

I was just thinking of Jason Statham when I was typing my previous post :chuckle:

You have an interesting idea with the far future thing. I think I would like to see that rather than a follow on from RotJ.

I must confess to being a bit of a SW nerd. I used to read the follow up books and the series by Timothy Zahn (?) was a pretty good continuation of the story where Jedi left off.
The KOTOR games had really good story lines as well, I reckon a few of them could be made for the screen.

And yes, I do have a lightsaber. It lights up and makes really cool wooosh noises.

Nerds and Geeks are just people with interests and passions about...well anything I suppose.

Any poster here with over a thousand posts could be described as a forum nerd. :emb:

Some things get labelled with nerd quicker though: sci fi, fantasy, video games, comics and role playing games.

While other areas try to find other names for their Geekdom

1) A car nerd who watches Top Gear avidly, buys What Car and talks about his Audi every time he goes to the pub calls himsefl "A petrol head"

2) A person with a massive VHS collection that became a DVD collection and then a Blue Ray collection and reads Empire and goes to Premiers is called a "film buff".

3) A person who spends a lot of money eating out, goes to wine tasting courses, actually reads restaurant reviews and can tell you which is the best cheese shop in the area is known as a connoisseur .

4) An art connoisseur too.

5) and if you play fantasy football, buy the away kit each year and know your football teams line up and match history going back years, you are a supporter.

T'sall the same thing
