See that's where I would fall short hex. I can't stand the taste of blood, that coppery taste is rank. I'd probably just have to resort to dishing it out instead as giving in this case, would certainly be more appealing than receiving. Is there anyone who doesn't like being bitten on the neck? I doubt it...

Some hot vampire chick sinking her teeth into my neck...I can't lie, that's horny stuff :D

PS I hate the taste of blood as well, I look like a bulldog chewing a wasp and sucking a lemon if I taste blood in my mouth :chuckle:

To be honest I dont like the taste of blood either... I can drink it though, but the taste isn't really anything nice. It's very interesting to read about these people anyway, I've heard something before, but what Doc told in op was quite new mostly.

Hei Doc! Did any of those peeps talk about getting "blooddrunk" or how should I put it? I think some people get somehow excited from it, specially if they have blood drinking as part of their sexlife...

Thanks for the great replies everyone.

Yeah Hex,I'd hear them talk about a high they got from it from time to time. Like you said there's a lot to do with the whole erotic fixation, and well....the ones who drink it for "nourishment" feel like they are more healthy and energetic from drinking blood.

Wow, this is a very awesome/interesting thread!

And I agree with psketti... who doesn't like to get bit on the neck? ... Rawr~!! :chuckle:

I used to hang around in IRC too, but I never got into the really dark part of it. I did go into the Wicca stuff, pretty interesting... and one time I had a very interesting dream regarding the Wicca stuff.

Oh... and about the vampires in popular culture...

It could be just a normal, natural taste, to be honest. People who have to hunt to survive tend to use everything of the prey - because they just don't know when they'll succeed in the hunt again. Noting is let go to waste, including blood. As novum said, many African tribes blood-let from their cattle; same with the Sami of Lapland, who take blood from their reindeer. Here in the U.K. people (not me!) eat Black Pudding, which was traditionally made with coagulated pig's blood (less of it nowadays, I'm led to believe, as people are a little tender and squeamish about it). So, blood could just be a natural dietary requirement of the human.

Ah, but along come those tales of Evil and Vampires and the Living Dead and, hey presto!, we have certain types of people jumping up and down claiming to be such. Shock, horror :D That it seems "anti Church" makes it even more attractive to those wanting to appear Strange, Otherwordly or Eviiiiiiil.

Meh. If it was on sale by the gallon at the butcher's - just along from the pig's trotters and tripe - it might not be in such fashion any longer. :D

Interesting thread

I can't ever imagine drinking blood mainly for 2 reasons

a) It can make you very very very ill

b) It tastes metallic

however if you have a small cut (not a serious bleed) the best thing you can to aid healing is suck the blood up. There is something in human salvia that stops the flow of blood alot quicker and cleaner than a plaster.

I recently had to have a blood transfusion.

It's an odd experience let me tell you. :tmi:

How did it feel like?

Physically it feels cold.
Mentally (on a personal level) it felt alien and overbearing.
Kinda scary because of the meticulous administering and witnessing of the administering(nurses witnessing each other as a back up incase your body rejects it)

Feels like you are being invaded. Helped, but invaded..... Ya know?

Hard to put into words
