I saw one of these "shadow people" a very long time ago when I was, I believe, in High School. I woke up feeling like there was a board on top of me- I was momentarily paralyzed and there was a silhouette at the bottom corner of my bed. It looked like it had a hat on. The figure disappeared as soon as I could move. It wasn't until last year when I read a thread about it on DIF, that I find out it happens to lots of people.

I tend to get an incubus, I have posted about this before and I would say, from my own opinion, that this had no rational explaination.

yes k-bone it was !

It was very very creepy and I ended up phoning a priest one night for help (and I not even catholic) and got to the point I was scared to go to sleep because I knew it would come

It was about the length of a person from their head to their stomach and had really sharp claws and would make a snuffly chuckly sound.

When I was around 12, I was tormented for a while by something but never saw anything. It was weird though. I'd be lying in bed and feel weight bearing down on the mattress(like someone leaning over me) but no one would be there. I felt 3 fingers brush my face one night. And, even more terrifying, was when I was lying in bed and it felt like someone under the mattress pushing up into my back! I was so scared, I stood on my bed and jumped to the bedroom door! I drove my parents crazy during that time.

I had the incubus for about 3 years, I know it wasn't a dream but if anyone told me they experienced the same I'd probably be a bit and try to find a rational explaination..I know my experience will sound daft to anyone who hasn't experienced the same

I ended up waking up 4 preists that night, the first 3 priests were actually quite grumpy and unhelpful and didn't like being woken up at 1am but the 4th priest was great and very helpful, and since he talked me through how to get rid of it , it only ever came back once and spat at me but haven't been bothered with him since (touch wood)

I had an experience with this black figure when I was 17/18. I woke up paralysed and saw him. The fear was unreal but that was the only time.
