How many had parents who'd give you a clip round the ear-hole & tell you to stop being stupid if you tried to confide anything like that happening though, I wonder. Or at the very least, insisted you just had a bad dream and ordered you to snap out of it.

My mom, though, generally very sweet, had no patience for it and thought I was crazy. She even told me once(when I was a teen & having issues again) that I needed help & maybe she needed to put me in therapy. My dad was often scarier than anything paranormal I could experience. :fraid:

When I was about 30, I did go to therapy for a bit & when I relayed my experiences from childhood to the shrink; she chalked it up to PTSD.

:( That's not good, K-Bone.

I know the OTT scary stuff that went on at our house when I was growing up was off limits to talk about - except when things happened in front of other people, so there was no choice.

So when my mum left my dad when she turned 50, it was interesting to hear that the stuff my brothers & sister & myself were aware of, were actually not our just imaginations after all (that was sarcasm btw) and my mum had been terrified by a lot of those things they'd denied were happening. Whereas, my dad usually was actually oblivious to it - & it was him who refused to have it acknowledged. Yet he did see & hear some things.

Oh, do tell! :D
Maybe you need to start a haunted house thread! I know I'd like to hear about what went on there! I'm glad your mom finally owned up to her own terror.

My grandpa used to always tell me ghost stories because there were always strange things happening to him & my grandma. She even saw an apparition when she was 16 that caused her to run into her house and hide under her bed!

We could have a Campfire Ghost Story thread or something?

How old is she?

Teens? Just have to deal with it unless you're able to help, and I'm sure you will do everything you can. After the teens it will slowly disappear.

She's 18 Coco, & never had anything like that happen before. Happily, she had another good night's sleep last night, and I've a good feeling it was a one off. :)
