how wide is the borders on your laptop?

the borders are the same as before, you just arent viewing it in Mobile device mode now :hahano:

the forum and template is exactly the same as before, 980px...maybe you can zoom in a bit to make it like when you were in mobile mode...as we havent got a mobile mode yet for this template. Do you know how to zoom in with chrome? just go to the spanner in the top RH corner and you will see zoom there when you click on it.

sorry thats all i can suggest for now...you must be running a resolution on that laptop that makes the forum smaller....im on 1024x768 on my laptop and i only have a thin strip of blue on each side thats thinner than the post dividers...it kind of looks the same as DIF but blue instead of lizard green.

I'll try it. About an inch and a half on each side..

You could also instead change your screen resolution on the laptop, see if theres a resolution setting you like better, it could be better for you than zooming. To make the forum bigger try one resolution different, lower numbers.

Heres a link how to do it :) Its in plain text if you scroll down...

windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/cha...ur-screen-resolution

If you dont like it you can just put it back so take a note where it was if you try this. :)

Changing the resolution made it even smaller. :(

Thank you for your help.....I'll have another fiddle around with it later. :hedbut: :)

sorry about that :hahano:

you couldnt go the other way with the resolution? You have to go to a smaller numbers to make the forum bigger.

example if you are 1280x1024 you have to go smaller numbers eg go to 1024x768

then the forum will get bigger.

Eff! What is an inch to my friends?

Canada has it's own idea of a gallon which is greater than US'!

OK, the borders on my PC are around 2 inches per eyeball or 5.1 cm.

I like to set my resolution on my laptop so i have little to no border on the sides, its just personal preference.

since most sites are around 900 to 980 wide, it seems to work ok for most places the way i have it.

the actual resolution numbers you need are different for different sized screens so its just a matter of trying it if people want to get rid of excessive borders, and have the site fill most of the page :)

BTW i never learned gallons, but i did learn pounds :chuckle:

The more I went down in resolution size... the smaller it got. I've never had to make any adjustments anywhere else and always get a full screen....weird.

Aha! It depends upon the product as to how much it will weigh pounds per inch/bushel/etc.! (Oil/water/diesel/milk, etc)

I once sought to buy a fancy flashlight for my father. The salesman, a former soldier, told me the flashlight would shine up to 50 clicks.

I stared at him blankly, and in such a way as to infer WTF.

He then said the flashlight would shine about 30 feet.

Impressive!

I bought it.

Daddy's happy.
