just to be clear what is the poll just to see who is fed up of the dif posts - or is it going to be used to stop dif discussions?

tbh getting off my chest was one of the factors that made me join as well as poster's I admired.

I also don't agree that there should be a total blackout of the topic. I think people should have the opportunity to express their disappointment at the hypocrisy and BS over there. It's all well and good for long term members here to say it's behind them after we they have vented their frustrations. To remove that from new members is not something I can support.

I think to qualify for a vote in this each member should demonstrate that they haven't vented at any point while being a member of the SZ. I'm not big on the ranting scene but I have thrown my hat it to the ring more than once. I'm Out.

Yes, I am sick of them. But, as ever, I don't have to read the bloody things.

As long as they are monitored and moderated according to SZ guidelines, people can start threads about almost anything, far as I'm concerned. With this issue in particular though, we should all be mindful that there are those who would like to see us suffer for some reason, so we should really be extra diligent in that sense.

To be frank i think a vote on whether to close the rumors thread or not, would result in a vote for closure. However i understand that this would mostly be because the members that have been here a while, have been through the process. So a vote in favour of closing the thread isnt necessarily a fair thing either perhaps despite being democratic, especially to new members. I can see that.

I assume then you would like that thread re opened and have some things to say?

The issue from our POV is that on one hand we are getting asked to lock it , and on the other hand people want it open.

At least we are talking about the decision openly though. We may have to review the decision to lock that rumors thread.

Its probably no surprise my views on the numerous posts related to the DIF. When I first landed here I was a bit surprised by the amount of discussion going on about it. So much so, that in the early days I thought about moving out of here. Its my opinion that so much discussion about it in a negative manner, experiences over there and such, held this site back form developing its own positve impact on the net.
I would rather let all the dif stuff away, and leave it behind us. But if folks want to stay with the dif flow, far be it from me to tell them what and what not to discuss, there was enough of that over the other side, so whatever floats your boat.

Well I'll go with the flow. I can restrain myself - I was interested in joining because of the people here, not because of any opportunity to attack the enemy - Oops! I mean attack Sean & I Am. (Well it's fun). I vented my spleen on ILF.

However, I agree with the proposals of keeping all DIF stuff in one thread, and also monitored closely to avoid any cock-ups. But I know for a fact there's some very damning stuff about DIF on other sites that they'd love to respond to by getting them closed, but they can't - so it's not that easy to do.
