well I can up & down em 'artificially' if you know what I mean...but as to how they turn out 'naturally' (apart from members clicking on the + or -)...then I'm clueless too.

It's just a way for people to indicate that someone is giving out good or bad Karma. If you keep getting bad vibes off someone you can actually express that buy giving their Karma a tap down. If on the other hand someone makes you feel good with a post or generally around the board then you give them a little boost.

This site is still beta so it may need to be looked at...it shouldn't allow you to give +/- too much to one person in a given period. I haven't looked at any of the forum stuff yet so I have no idea why it's open to abuse unless it is due to admin rights.

As a test the new testers could see if they can give multiple +/- to one person. Try to keep the +/- equal in order to have a neutral effect.
