Some of you know I have a new adopted cat..........she is a bit 'unpeopley'

Anyhoo when i first got her I asked her owners what they did to clip her claws, i.e themselves or vets and how often?

They said they never clipped her claws because she bites her own nails

Her little ears are covered in scabs and I think it's because her back leg claws are huge, sharp, pointy and thick (when she is on the windowledges [wood] she makes a clip clop nose like she is wearing high heels)

Do you think I should attempt to clip them or is it a vet trip?

What is nail fungus?

She is approx 8

I've always had cats so I'm quite confident in clipping when it needs done but all my other cats were outdoor cats so they sort of wore them down naturally.

Lucky is an indoor cat .......I'll take her to the vets and not attempt it myself

Dawney....my daughter works as volunteer at RSPCA vets....(besides studying animal biology at Uni)...have you got RSPCA vets near you? They accept donations, so no expensive vets fees. Try your local cats protection league too, they work with the RSPCA.

this is how vets do it. do you have an angle grinder laying around dawn?

If she's not very co-operative, I'd let the vet do it, or you'll feel rotten with guilt if she squirms & you nick the blood-vessel.

Yeap I'm worried if I try her she might get all resentful and we'll be back to day one where she hated everyone.

I did once 'draw blood' clipping a cats claw so will take her to the vets .
