how about the search tab on the forum menu, is that working?

both searches are working for me still , so i would like to know if its broken for anyone else.

Search tab on the menu works fine for me but the other one doesn't, same as feather.
the anorak hides the fact that sean is composed of 95% vaginas

yeah the searches function seperately it would seem.

i put that link above in a new menu item, SEARCH, which drops down with 2 choices, site search (the link i just posted) and forum search (which does the same as the black search tab in the forum menu)

i cant see anything wrong in the settings tbh so dont know why its not working correctly.

Looks like you have to use the forum search for the forum and site search for the rest of the site.

The white box appears to be a site search and doesnt include the forum. If it did before and you were using it, i dont know why it changed because that search box is an extra uploaded bit of software, a module, and it hasnt been touched since being installed back in the day.

I did the search for 'icke' on the Search tab / drop down / forum
and got a far more believable, if embarrassing, result :arrowright:

Yes the box excludes the forum, so when wanting to search, you have to think of the forum and the rest of the site as two seperate things.

The 'tab' is a Kunena thing and wont find articles on 'non-forum' parts of the site... not that there are many articles etc. now but assuming someone wants to pick that side of things up one day, the site search might be useful.

though im now looking at installing a third option on that SEARCH dropdown that searches the whole site, and has an image search... but it will be the devil. :hahano: :shiner:

I took the easy way out and made a link to the devil, that page will search the entire sanctum zone site only, :hahano:

It will search both the forum and the rest of the site together, anything under the sanctumzone domain. And images on this site can be searched also, the results page has a tab to select image search.

Even though there is supposed to be a way to add their search box to a page here, It didnt seem to want to embed a search box in one of the SZ pages without errors, so a link will do.

BTW i split the search posts off into its own thread.

Search 1 The box is in with the bricks from what I gather and can't be discarded easily, if at all.

Search 2 Is the go-to tab for searching either the site, the forum or images etc (SZ Search)

Search 3 Is kinda redundant / adds to the confusion imo and, if feasible, may be better of gone.

The search tab for the forum, the black tab, i think i will leave that though, i think people can figure out its the forum menu and its for the forum only, plus i tend to use it. :chuckle:

There is another module available that will give us the white box but it searches the forum only, up to you guys if you want that instead up there.

Its a faster way to search the forum than the advanced forum search.

i noticed frog used on on TZ, hadnt noticed before.

most searches would be for the forum anyhow.

IMHO I reckon that 3 different 'search' facilities, with varying functionality, within millimeters of each other, is a bit overkill.
No-one is gonna die if they're all there though so it's just a preferences thing eh?
