Don't you think science is a revolutionary world view?
"there is one Human race"
"The "human raceS" [different races within humanity] are an entirely social construct".

Is this touching on ethnicity rather than race?

6.52 minutes a good graph showing that even ethnic, national, or geographic distinctions are frequently also merely ideological constructs:
"Around 1/3 of the time a person is more phenotypically similar to someone of a different population, than another member of their own population"

I'd really agree with that, you get all sorts in the United Kingdom, I think RA you might have underestimated the genetic/cultural diversity of the UK, it's always had input from far off places.

Around 10 mins:
"you can say there is one race or 3million both are equally valid, because both are arbitrary buckets in which to put diversity...
I only object to the essentialist concept; that the "buckets" were there before we created them; and that dividing up diversity in this way, reveals something significant"

"it's the way of simplifying a continuum, breaking it up into "understandable" (metaphysical) chunks"
He then gives a good example of this by describing the Western Historical narrative (with it's divisions, and subdivisions into various periods).

That's a misrepresentation, skills and experiences are worthless in regards to making you happy, if they are only for your own benefit, so it showed that money can buy your happiness if you use it to do stuff that creates happiness, ie giving to other people.

Heh, it showed both.
Experiences and giving to others, either is viable. :)
Personally I'd rather give directly than via a charity though.

Yea, the video does mention how spending money on traveling makes people happy.

I'd be happier if I could give somebody who might never get one the opportunity of a holiday.

I beg to differ. It never mentioned acquiring skills, but didn't say experiences are worthless in regards to making you happy. It actually said try to go for these instead of material things. And it wasn't saying your money would only buy you happiness if you use it to do stuff for other people - it said do 'something' for others, but presumably you're expected to have some left for yourself, to use for those experiences.

Which is great, and I'm all for it.

I agree it would be excellent to be so affluent as to lavish holidays on people.

I think the people who've moaned about their lot, having won the lottery is interesting. It makes me wonder if they just lacked imagination and or common sense as to how to use it, and so it's a pity they were the winners.

Interesting snippet on the influence of the social environment on the "individual" in natural biology:
