What's going on over there, is this the awakening Icke spoke about? :umm:
Four people have been found dead following a shooting incident that triggered a stand-off with police in Aurora, in the US state of Colorado.

Police say they went to a townhouse after shots were heard there overnight.

Officers later entered the home. Following a gunfight they found the suspect dead, along with three people apparently killed earlier, police say.

Aurora, near Denver, was the scene of a mass shooting at a cinema in July, in which a gunman killed 12 people.

He opened fire at random during the premiere of the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises. Suspect James Eagan Holmes is currently being tried on murder charges.

In Saturday's incident, police said they were alerted by a woman who had escaped from the townhouse.

The suspect barricaded himself for five hours, before officers moved in and shot him.

Entering the property, the team found the shooter dead, along with two other men and a woman. Their identities have not been disclosed.

Are some of the idiots with guns in the USA beginning to hear about the Illuminati?
Fusion paranoia

Michael Kelly, a Washington Post journalist and critic of anti-war movements on both the left and right, coined the term "fusion paranoia" to refer to a political convergence of left-wing and right-wing activists around anti-war issues and civil liberties, which he said were motivated by a shared belief in conspiracism or anti-government views.

Social critics have adopted this term to refer to how the synthesis of paranoid conspiracy theories, which were once limited to American fringe audiences, has given them mass appeal and enabled them to become commonplace in mass media, thereby inaugurating an unrivaled period of people actively preparing for apocalyptic millenarian scenarios in the United States of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. They warn that this development may not only fuel lone wolf terrorism but have devastating effects on American political life, such as the rise of a revolutionary right-wing populist movement capable of subverting the established political powers.[43]

Daniel Pipes wrote in a 2004 Jerusalem Post article titled Fusion Paranoia:
Fears of a petty conspiracy – a political rival or business competitor plotting to do you harm – are as old as the human psyche. But fears of a grand conspiracy – that the Illuminati or Jews plan to take over the world – go back only 900 years and have been operational for just two centuries, since the French Revolution. Conspiracy theories grew in importance from then until World War II, when two arch-conspiracy theorists, Hitler and Stalin, faced off against each other, causing the greatest blood-letting in human history. This hideous spectacle sobered Americans, who in subsequent decades relegated conspiracy theories to the fringe, where mainly two groups promoted such ideas.

The politically disaffected: Blacks (Louis Farrakhan, Cynthia McKinney), the hard Right (John Birch Society, Pat Buchanan), and other alienated elements (Ross Perot, Lyndon LaRouche). Their theories imply a political agenda, but lack much of a following.

The culturally suspicious: These include "Kennedy assassinologists," "ufologists," and those who believe a reptilian race runs the earth and alien installations exist under the earth's surface. Such themes enjoy enormous popularity (a year 2000 poll found 43 percent of Americans believing in UFOs), but carry no political agenda.
The major new development, reports Barkun, professor of political science in the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, is not just an erosion in the divisions between these two groups, but their joining forces with occultists, persons bored by rationalism. Occultists are drawn to what Barkun calls the "cultural dumping ground of the heretical, the scandalous, the unfashionable, and the dangerous" – such as spiritualism, Theosophy, alternative medicine, alchemy, and astrology. Thus, the author who worries about the Secret Service taking orders from the Bavarian Illuminati is old school; the one who worries about a "joint Reptilian-Bavarian Illuminati" takeover is at the cutting edge of the new synthesis. These bizarre notions constitute what Michael Kelly termed "fusion paranoia," a promiscuous absorption of fears from any source whatsoever.[44]

the act of dramatizing real or fictional events injects a degree of falseness or contrived efforts which media savvy people today can identify easily. "News" today is virtually always dramatized, at least by pitting "one side" against another in the fictional journalistic concept that all stories must contain "both sides" (as though reality could be reduced to two sides) or by using more intensive dramatic developments similar to feature movies. That is, by obvious dramatizing, the media reinforces the idea that all things are contrived for someone's gain which could be another definition of, at least, political conspiracies theories

I had a conversation about this subject recently in regard to a few people who are suicidal, but have no history of violence, physically toward anyone or verbally and why don't they just kill themselves without taking people with them when they snap and tun into a multiple shooting scene.

In many of these shootings you have a suicidal person that hates themselves, or have let things or personal problems weigh them down so much they just want out and also want to have the extreme mental pressure on them to stop, this feeling happens to many of us but we control it, some can't and it turns self destructive.

The difference between a serial killer and a multiple shooter is greater than you would think, many of the shooters probably could have been turned or aimed in a different direction with their lives if caught early even in childhood, were as a serial killer would not have been in most cases because of the inner drive and psychotic tendencies, they would still want to kill more than just one stand of mayhem where they were ended along with their victims.

The serial killer would then be the opposite of a suicidal person, so in my opinion a multiple shooter has many of the same mental issues everyone deals with, but torments of one kind or the other have escalated in their minds and consumed them and they just lose it

so maybe i do understand your connection guev.. but in the end i think its unlikely, i think its all kinds of pressures, not rage at reptiles and kennedy assassins.

That's a key people have fragile feelings but are capable of a deadly response, I don't understand either what at the point they go off and kill is the actual breaking point in their minds as a go or no go to do it but they have a second of decision.

And many times it has built up in them for a long time, even since childhood possibly with a deep set hatred of something or someone.,

You dismiss it but then say there are all kinds of pressures, so surely something that attacks one's ontological security on as many fronts and as repetitively/rigorously as the CT counter culture does, or Icke's books do, could have a huge effect on the stress levels, anxiety, tension of masses of the population, in this fear state reasoning plays second fiddle to intuition or feelings :L

conspiracy theories may scare some people or make them feel powerless. but some things are conspiracy fact. its not for everyone. some cant handle it. but to make a giant leap of logic combining shooting of 4 people with conspiracy theories when theres not a shred of evidence. why, thats a conspiracy theory about conspiracy theories. you tricky devil.

It's not a "leap of logic" to suggest covert establishment operatives, IW Operatives and Opportunists with Extreme political views have a vested interest in proliferating disinformation, misiinformation, and focusing the subjects and outcomes of mass awareness of current affairs, Marx put forward the idea that the Bourgeois of his time put money, time and thought into developing false consciousness and counter revolutionary forces that could exist within a revolution until such time as to betray it.

Most the individuals and groups in the Truth Movement themselves push different agendas and have a whole ideological base to draw from when harangued into betraying their secrets, we all accept the media do that in very sneaky and underhanded ways, why would you expect an unregulated, unaccountable, unverified website, or webzine to be pure as the driven snow :D

You should read something about Mccarthyism and the JBS, or some Nesta Webster or Ezra Pound, these are the sources of many popular CT doctrines, many people used to openly quote Archibald Ramsay on the Icke Forum, material less than 6 degrees of separation from the early CIA, and Aristocratic British affiliates of Fascism, you probably know a bit about Blavatsky, Theosophy, maybe even Synarchism>?
All this occult stuff was popular with Hitler, Himmler and more specifically other leading Nazi's, it forms the basis of other similar CT doctrines, then you get the anti leftist, anti intellectual sloganising which is frequent in the Colomn, people's rants about Common purpose etc, a lumping together of Liberal, Marxist, Green, Social Democratic political tendencies, all left of center as being the cause of global unrest, globalization, immigration, crime, homosexuality, pedofilia etc etc etc.

Have you noticed the change in direction the TPUC site and column have taken since New Labour left power, not focusing so much on politics now it seems?

Why are people like Gerrish so strongly opposed to CP but never mention groups like the Monday club>?

Fuck i forgot to piss on religion  wasted opportunity :D

well i dunno about the OP.. you said is that the awakening then ask if they heard about illuminati, then said it was a paranoid fear state.. so i believe that people can be put into paranoid fear states from reading about conspiracies but the shooting of those people i dont know if it is or isn't a result of conspiracy theories.
there was a guy some years ago, weiss i think his name was. he was on above top secret. anyway he went off and shot someone and killed himself. he was in a paranoid state i believe.
you gotta be paranoid about paranoia.. i dont know it gets to a point where do you make a stand, what to believe and not believe. who is manipulating and who isn't. its all up to yourself to process the information and make a cohesive world view for yourself. if you are spoon fed forever, who knows what you eat.

It's interesting that John Harris fella took off and then put out that pdf about Akhenaten, CTers say the "elite" use symbols to communicate with each other, i'd say that mythos he appropriated is a fairly intriguing symbol, it hints to whether he's just the leader of a splinter faction of the ruling dynasty, as Akhenaten himself was ;)

This shooting could have been sparked by any number of events, or any combination of a million different scenarios. I've searched the internet and found no suggestion given as yet as to the cause was, though the woman who jumped out of the window & escaped may shed some light on it soon.

I find it ludicrous that with no information whatsoever to go on, somebody would argue a case for its being connected to conspiracy-based paranoia.

That's because it is ludicrous.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.
