In the fifties early Chinese ore prospecting expeditions found many different metals, some which they later had difficulty in smelting down, they were of course fragments of metal from meteorites.

They're made of the same elements found on earth just as they are found throughout the universe.

I am going to take a friendly 'argument' with you here Andy. There are many elements out there in space that we do not have here on earth.

To bring the 'argument' back to earth take the humble lavender plant. There is nothing like the Essential Oil f Lavender to heal a burn. Scientists have tried for decades to replicate its healing abilities in the lab. They can't. There are almost 300 elements in lavender. Scientists only have names/can identify just under half of them.

I shall go and see if I can remember/find what type of elements are found 'off planet'

I think I know what you were trying to say though.

The reason why there are meteorite hunters out there who make a nice living out of finding and selling them is because some will contain these elements which are unique to space.

On the radio earlier, they were saying there were over 900 people injured, and that the force of the impact was the equivalent of a nuclear explosion.

I thought that was a strange comment, because can't nuclear explosions vary in intensity, or am I being doltish?
