Some people... when i first opened this i expected to see some video of the people of walmart on a special shoping spree or something where they run each other over and attack one another midstore

I have to admit, when I watch the American films and see them carrying their shopping in a brown paper bag, I used to think it looked really cool, I loved the sound of those bags (weird fetish) I think their shoppers look more comfortable carrying their bags that way, unlike the British way, with 3 carrier bags hanging off each arm, or, the Orangutan look, as I like to call it!

Oh yes, I used to like their milk cartons too.

I've met some people who buy the expensive crud like that.

An evening out with my husband and 2 directors of the company he works for and their wives - it was torture.

The men went off mooching around the bar, talking about work , and I was left with the wives, who talked incessant drivel about their Gucci this, that & the other, and their expensive spa treatments. They insisted on telling me the price of everything they owned.

I shook myself from a coma after a bit, and stole the men's cigars, pierced them through their cellophane sleeves with my earring, and weed on them (in the ladies room though), because I was so very bored, and out of place, and annoyed at being left in that predicament.

Well, in my defence, I was a bit tipsy as well.

I had a manager guy who was into all that garbage.
He was all smug showing me his new Rolex which he had scored for £1,000 cheaper than the rrp. (it was probably a fake).
I said "let me see it up close". So he put his wrist out. I put my piece-of-shit work watch up next to it and said "Yup, exactly the same time".

Same when he was showing off his new motor. He knew I was into music so he made a point of letting me hear the built-in mini-disc player. I asked if he got a discount on the car because it came with a dying format media player.
He shot me a look of hatred and panic.

He didn't like me anyway, (He has no idea how pleased that made me feel.)
I used to sing the Manic's "My Little Empire" around him. He knew I was having a dig but there's was nothing he could do about it.

I have found myself in situations where certain unfamiliar people at a social event or even at a friends house can be chatting away about certain topics(yes, I have experienced the 'bragger' types too Gilly) I do observe people, I find it fascinating, I listen for a while but usually in the back of my mind I'm thinking I don't think I'm going to have much in common with you kind, apart from the fact that we are homo sapiens, but, its either tune into their conversation or having to listen to the hypochondriac across the room talking about her (undiagnosed rare illness, that has every doctor baffled ) or her hysterectomy operation that she had 3 years ago!
