It came up in another topic and I wanted to discuss it here. From watching doomsday preppers etc I have found a belief held by some that china's growth will lead to the dollar's collapse. Some people with this belief think that this will turn America into a cashless society.
Personally speaking I don't think this will happen. I think worse case scenario is that we are forced into production over importing. China does a lot of business with the u.s so I really don't see a benefit in them killing our economy off.
Having said that empires do not last forever do they?
Thoughts?
The end of the Dollar happened years ago they just maintain the illusion of it having any strength normally by throwing Dollars into military campaigns.
America has effectively been living for free off of Chinese imports and to add insult to injury every time they dump another load of new Dollars (QE) into the heap the investments China has devalue. How could it get any worse for China in reality? They would actually be better off keeping the resources and using them than giving shit way to America for currency that is worthless.
I have no idea how it will pan out in respect to a cash less society but I can't see that the result will be good for the man in the street. Who is going to fund a drive that involves production over imports? Agriculture in the US has been systematically handed to corporations and factory systems, vast areas of automotive manufacturing has collapsed, Hollywood turns out garbage but they manage to sell it, most areas of manufacturing has been out sourced. Your government, corporations and banks clearly don't give a shit seeing how they created the situation. The out come of which has been obvious for years. You can't survive on a business model like that indefinitely. Fixing or salvaging the situations would have started several years ago if the Businesses involved were proactive and devoted to the domestic situation.
Although that has been said with respect to the USA it's the same in the majority of western economies. The UK is a carbon copy all you need to to is swap the name referenced.
We are all in deep shit dollar or no dollar.
