Ive said it before, I dont think they want people sitting on money and earning from it anymore.

I know alot of people here who relied on historically high interest rates in Australia relied on it for their income. Now we are at historic lows.

If they start charging, @ andy yep its common sense, people will want to pull it out completely.

Where they put it is another story... but heck in a safe is better than being charged, and even risking bail-ins/haircuts or whatever other words they use for stealing it.

Maybe they want people to buy gold and then they might manipulate the market and crash the price eventually??

Maybe they want people to try invest it in other ways... businesses, property... who knows.

Maybe they have lost their marbles.

Just another tax innit?
Or just another way to make sure they get their bonuses?

Its not illegal to store cash if it has been gained legitimately (or cleaned properly ) as far as I know, right. So who would leave it be to get skimmed off of.
