www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25861717 HSBC imposes restrictions on large cash withdrawals

this is just............ mind boggling.

Fancy having to give your bank a reason as to why you want to withdraw your own funds!

It's YOUR money and they treat it like it's their property?

They don't like people drawing out cash, because in reality they don't have very much of it! ;)

It can also be seen as part of a wider agenda: all transactions to be traceable.

They've ''imposed'' daily withdrawal limits for years now. £3K was, I think, the limit of a walk-in withdrawal - larger amounts had to be pre-requested from branch- alleged reason being they might not have sufficient cash in tills- money might be in the safe and on a time-lock.........

This looks like a precursor to bank bail-in. 10% instant tax on your money to shore up a leaky bank balance sheet? Cyprus was the test bed.

Outright theft by any other name.

P.s
The bank staff used to ask 'doing anything nice with the money' - to which the response was 'yes thanks' *big grin* - and walk out

This documentary evidence shit is probably being done under the guise of 'anti money-laundering' - cos HSBC wants the monopoly?

Agreed, though it could be that they suspect a run is looming...
I also agree that this could be related to the desire/plan to phase out physical cuurency.

In fact food-stamps is just a more blatant return to slavery.

Even slaves get fed while they are needed.

Well that seems to be in the pipeline: replacing money with credit for certain utilities approved by the "haves".

See it in the dole getting replaced with credits that you can't use for pint or a pack of cigs.

Food banks for the poor is just the start.

And already in force in the US/

There certainly does seem to be growing evidence of a plan for an underclass who do in fact live as literal slaves to 'society' but I don't think this relates directly to the desire for a fully digital economy per se. I see that particular plan as being a bloody big weapon of control. Though one that could easily be circumvented should folk realise that no form of currency is necessary.

The question of whether poverty is for control or if control is to inflict poverty, IMHO, is clear. One and the same. No poverty; no control and vice versa.

This is because poverty is more than just the absence of luxury. It is the creation of need in others in others. The denial of security and self-fulfillment and the command of the drip-feed supply of that means power. As does the threat of its removal. Even the so-called wealthy are slaves.

Its a tall ask.
Most people strongly believe that money is essential.
To those in the know it is ofc quite a bizarre and laughable concept.

Tbf yes, it's all about control. The coming underclass may be easily seen as enslaved but yes, everyone else that uses currency in it's current form, are similarly enslaved. It's just a bit harder for folk to see that than see that Workfare etc are literal slavery.

I went up to Dorset to see me mother last week. She's an old hippy and veteran of many protests in her time. Not for the first time, I made a comment about money being unnecessary...Not for the first time I witnessed her head implode at the thought...Then the objections came flooding out....Bless her. I left her, encouraging her to spend some time thinking through those objections and looking for workarounds and alternative ways of approaching them. I also encouraged her to see that most of those objections are actually based on nothing more than illusory notions that are artificially placed in our psyche...

It'll be interesting to see if she has given it the thought it requires next time I see her :D

Heh :)

IMHO if you understand that a world is possible without a monetary system then you have truly 'awakened'.
You can forget 911/aliens/other conspiracy stuff. If this one issue was overcome then the rest would follow. Corruption and secrecy would be pointless in a resource based economy. Yet I see so few 'truthers' talking about it, IMHO they are having a giant pointless wankfest.

As harsh as it is, I have to agree. There is an awful lot of back slappy, self congratulation involved in the 'truth' 'movement' :barfonu: at the words...
If you listen to the truth movement it's all about some bunch being evil and enslaving us all. Nearly always, the blame game.
Whereas the truth is that we all do literally have the power/responsibility to change the way things are done. Every single truther could be part of the solution rather than obsessing over the problems. Then we'd really have a movement going on...

But blaming elites is easy. It involves no personal responsibility. It's us that are causing this to happen and it's us that have to change it.

before xmas I helped write a course on banks and banking procedures for a well known advisory organisation.

The person with whom I was writing the course was mind blown over some of the legislation - such as when you deposit money into a bank the relationship is the same as that of one of a debtor/creditor - so the money is no longer yours it is the banks - they just 'owe' you the money. Seriously I saw her head almost explode.

Did you get as far as explaining what happens to the 'cash' you deposit into the bank under a fractional reserve system or did you think you may actually be done for manslaughter if you did? :chuckle:

Banks never have more than a small fraction of deposits in cash. That has been the way for centuries, but the fraction has got smaller over recent decades. (That's my understanding anyway.)

oh yes we went through fractional reserve stuff and that the money is no longer backed by anything other than peoples labour and belief - the course itself went down really well - just wish we could have added to the course about the shady stuff rather than just factual legislation.
