Imagine you've just had a heart attack and you're brought into A&E with all the noise going on and then you're left on a trolly for hours on end in the corridor...
Thats if you make it to the hospital in time ofc...

But in defense of any system I think most attempt to care and do their best, it just the nature of the beast, and in all fairness your location has much to do with individual care and your feeling of being important or not.

I think its got more to do with hospitals that are understaffed tbh lol...

So you can imagine them leaving patients on trolleys in full public view (no matter what their specific condition is and some can be embarrassing).

It almost always boils down to money.

I have to say that my experience of NHS hospitals are that everyone works incredibly hard in pressurised circumstances, and all the doctors look completely knackered all the time. It always amuses me that you get these execrable dramas on TV like Holby City where everyone's glamorous and having affairs right, left and centre. When I've been in hospital, all of the doctors and consultants had bags under their eyes and looked about halfway to death, and the nurses barely had a moment to themselves.

All of which, of course, is a reason to fund the NHS properly from the hundreds of billions collected in tax, not to privatise it.

Again that boils down to upper management being full of assholes who have no nursing experience whatsoever and are just political beasts.

There's no doubt spare resources that can be better used at different hospitals and put to better use in other ones and all sorts of stuff like that.
It boils down to decent systems software which again ofc has been outsourced to the boys who made a ballsup of it but still got paid billions, remember that fiasco?


Revenue alone could save untold amounts of money and having to fill in shitloads of forms if they just joined the all the departments computers together

The bigger systems get the greater the chaos and its very difficult to avoid tbh.

Yes, and of course all of the layers and layers of management are more interested in justifying their own existence than actually making the system work.

At its worst, it is like it is very much by design, imo. Nuff said.
