Jamie Oliver had a stand at the Lord's test match this year.

Let's not go into the fact that the multi, multi-millionaire restaurant owner doesn't need to set up a stall at a cricket match.

His stall made steak sandwiches (he didn't make them, of course). How much do you reckon they cost? Twenty quid each.

Let's not forget...he does have to finance several restaurants staffed by immigrant workers who are only too happy to work all the hours gods sends for minimum wage.

Give the man a break, ffs.

I try not to pay any attention to him, but I happened to hear about his £20 corned beef sandwiches on the radio. The less I know about the restaurant trade the better because everything about the food industry is ridiculous. It's good to eat well, but I just find it ludicrously pretentious and snobbish considering it all comes out brown in the end, anyway.

Beardy Bob is in his new home :)
Making it was a bit of a rush job and it isn't 'finished' yet but he now has space and things to explore. We got him in late yesterday afternoon and bless him, it was too cold. It hadn't had a chance to warm up properly and the lamp from his first home wasn't powerful enough. It panicked us a bit as he immediately went dark and lethargic. Even started to show signs of brumating :(.
This morning I made a roof extension and we went and got a big heat lamp and reflector to go in it. The temp in his hot spot is now showing just about 100F and his cool spot is about 85F, round about ideal. I also got him a bigger night lamp.

He is perking up, he's spent nearly all afternoon basking and he's lightening :) He's had a fair bit to drink but aint eaten today. I'm hoping that after a good kip tonight and on waking up tomorrow in a sorted home, he'll get his appetite back.
It's all been a bit of a stress for me up till now cos I just want to do right by him and so far, he hasn't had exactly ideal conditions. Hopefully now though, he'll start settling in a bit more. Then I can stop posting the contents of my mind in this yer thread ;)

On the way back from the Doc's tonight I went into the Tescosaurus' cave for a couple of bits and pieces.

Am I the only guy who comes out of the razor aisle thinking that he's just been browsing a arms fair?

This one has galliontyeleventeen blades ...
This one has a contoured head for those awkward to get at areas ...
The model before you features a "skin defence complex™"
Onboard this lil' beaut' there's a concealed "Hydrating Gel Reservoir", "multi-speed vibration" AND a "battery life indicator"
FUCK YEAH!! :hypo:

Jeez I remember when the one blade, a brush and some soap got the job done no problem.

Beardy Bob will be loving it now you've got the temperature sorted. Then you'll have to train him to fetch your slippers.

If you've bits of face that are hard to get at, you should just fill the crevices with epoxy resin.

Your dinner sounds nice Dawn. Did your puss (Adolf?) share it? My dogs always help me eat mine. They ask for some, and the great pack-leader that I am, I tell them to buzz off, but then feel mean so give them some anyway. :emb:

It aint just you ;)
Razor blades and tooth paste are the things that most show the utter crap that advertising/marketing are. The Ads constantly tell you everything that went before is crap. Which is clearly not true, evidenced by the fact that we don't all have beards and no teef.....

It's all part of the illusion of choice and freewill though innit.
