In tham thar Olden Days, when people lived in fearful ignorance and believed all kinds of baddies - seen and unseen - were out to get them, it was erroneously thought that mental ill health was due to demons and eviiiiil. Mentally ill people were villified and driven out of communities for this reason (except the lucky few, the Court Jesters, who were kept as "pets" so that their Nuttery could amuse everyone). It's peculiar that in this modern, educated world, some degree of this superstition still clings on in places - NIMBY-ism and the "fear of speaking openly about it".

But, in the main, Thank Heavens, at last we nearly all fully understand that mental ill health has NOTHING to do with devils, demons, possession or eviiiiiiil. It's a fact of life, most often brought on by circumstances endured and sometimes chemical imbalances.

What Mental Health issues are doing being discussed in a thread about VAMPIRISM I don't know, seeing as the two have NOTHING to do with each other.

But I guess for some reason, old beliefs and old superstitions are somehow making a kind of "come back" at the moment (thanks to the like of Icke and other fear mongers).

Law Of Attraction and Creating Your Own Reality are shite. Again, entrenched in old superstitions based on "pleased" or "giving" powers (in this case appeased and won over by constant good thought and..... yeah.... faith!). You actually CAN manipulate your circumstances and "Thin air" - but it takes a hell of a lot of concerted effort and a good amount of time.

Funny, though, how in the Law Of Attaction shite and Create Your Own Reality shite the "good stuff" takes ages to get real; but the bad stuff happens almost instantly and without ANY degree of effort at all.

:)
There is no such thing as Thin Air: Thin Air is full of the particles of creation.

And practice, practice, practice until you make it something fabulous.

I think the thread got a bit lost mid-way cantata. Perhaps it should be split?

I don't think it got so much "lost", Abs, as had the muddying ideaa introduced that psi-vampirism and mental ill health were somehow "connected".

I just want to make clear: THEY'RE NOT.

No. You were right, dubs. Bi-polar was mentioned and you chipped in....

But WHY was Bi-polar mentioned in a thread about psi-vampirism? What the fek has Bi-polar got to do with sucking the Life Force of others?

I want the "connection" severed too - because there isn't one.

Honestly, relax..... It wasn't like this thread got derailed, and TBH emotional vampires were introduced into a thread about picking up on other people's vibes..... Like I said earlier, my sister suffers from clinical depression, and she is an emotional vampire -- one of the games she likes to play is convincing herself that everyone suffers from the same thing she does, and will go so far as to try to convince them.

I don't know that I'm an empath; I have empathy for other people, but when I pick up on vibrations from other people, I don't carry that as a weight or anything, it stays with them. I don't absorb their negativity, I just feel it. I don't find it magnetic, I find it somewhat repellant. It's awkward. If being an empath means being a target for other people's excessive neediness and then also a target for manipulation because of that, it's not me. Being bombarded in a public place by people's frustration and negativity is not wounding, it just makes me uncomfortable.

I find it surprising that so many on here suffer from a form of depression or have been diagnosed as such. I find it interesting that some of these same people are also susceptible to picking up on vibrations. I can see how someone who really is bipolar, or depressed, could be an easy mark for manipulation by an emo vampire or a narcissist. Absolutely.

TBH, I think I appear to be a mark for manipulation; I occasionally have some odd characters who seem to pick up on something they sense I am, and attempt to initiate something with me.... but alas, their damn vibrations give them away every time. :)

I don't find it surprising but I do find it intriguing....

I realized there were connections long ago, had them confirmed on DIF and reconfirmed again here...

Same here. My ex-boyfriend was one such person with those narcissistic traits. I am generally a very content and happy person though.

What makes humans think that energy vampires are real and not just people with mental illness?

How can you distinguish a real energy vampire from a suffering or miserable person?

Serious question...

I grew up with one, as in one of my sisters, and she's an energy sucking cow with a very twisted soul that came purely from her needy fucking desire to be the absolute centre of attention every waking hour of her vile excistence. Everything she's done, or has happened to her, is down to her actions and decisions. Every single person she's encountered throughout her life, has been affected negatively by this encounter.

She is 100% an 'energy vampire' and will continue to be so until the day she dies.

These type people emit such a negative force, you can feel and sense it without even knowing them,or anything about any mental issue they have, maybe to some it sounds like a serious term, but really it's the best way to describe them they suck the happiness and fun out of individuals and family, and in my opinion some of them don't realize how bad they are.

Probably not with many of them, they seem to have the attitude that they are always right, they throw fits if they don't get their way,are egomaniacs, and always talking about their wants and needs,we around them are basically just tools to be used.

I bet psketti can describe them even better than I can, judging from her reply

Energy Vampires... Well I see a lot of these on a daily basis but to be honest I don't think they are stealing energy on purpose. They are simply people who seek attention or are just negative.
There are many reasons a person may seek attention from background, mental issues or ego dysfunctions. So the first two must be treated diligently...'very diligently' and the ego side of things is usually down to immaturity and lack of experience/responsibilities.

Same goes for negative people, there may be many factors why someone is over-negative in conversation or mannerisms and again should be taken with a pinch of salt.

A good person, or master of appraisal should be able to manage any form of the above to mold a more pleasant encounter. Sowe should all take responsibility for our own actions, and others realistically... So we could therefore consider each and everyone as an energy vampire. Doesn't mean we should disregard them.

Another factor to consider is proximity... We all live in such a fast moving, busy world whereby not enough of us spend time alone. The egotistical person seeks involvement of any kind and they are who I would consider while using the term 'Energy Vampires'

In terms of tuning in on peoples vibrations which may be positive or negative we should also consider spiritual aspects of numerology and horoscopes. We are all human forms but all have different vibration frequency's. Each and everyone of us is on a separate life path which may clash alongside others or work well with others.
If each of us consider our best friends... You will generally find they are on the same paths which may be completely different but what the other lacks gains from the other. Hence we can bring the Yin Yang theory and Karma sense into all aspects of friendship and companionship...
Some of us work on very high vibration frequency's and these people (often referred to as masters) do indeed have psychic powers of some kind, they usually can't predict in real time but do have synchronicity from thoughts to processing.

A good bit of insight is the legacy of the master numbers in numerology linked to horoscopes. This is why many Masons and powerful people attract money... Money contains various compounds that react to certain vibrations... If you give off certain vibrations then you can simply attract those type of compounds or energies given off by these compounds.
If you find that hard to believe then just consider the fact that money contains all kinds of metals in the inks used and also the strips of metal used in many currency's. Then start to consider loose change... many metals are used.
