shelob, why you have to take sketti? we offer you abs upon her safe return.

don't worry abs, we can probably kill a spider. we must use our premium bait.

Joking aside, there is someone who has her email address / tel #, & can check she's OK isn't there?

I sent an email her way, she is ok, just a little busy...said she would be back soon. :)

My sulking was just an unashamed ploy to guilt her into coming back....but she is too clever to fall for any tricks from me :sulk: :larf:

At least perhaps i made her laugh (at me) :yeahno:

No guns in my closet of course. This is the UK, land of the free...

BUT....I do own a rather excellent crossbow that is quite capable of doing the job, and (for now at least) is perfectly legal to own without a licence.

I shall at some point be posting film footage of this weapon's awesome performance...

Looking forward to seeing your crossbow, most of the bows around here are compounds, but if they have a really high tension weight there not much fun to target with, unless you have the upper body strength of a gorilla, the most fun compound I had was one with if I remember correctly fifty pound pull weight or forty eight

yes. the saddest thing is when a mother outlives her daughters. poor shelob, not long for this world.

Its not a 'top of the range' model so to speak (cost just under £50), and I'm not sure about its specifications regarding pull weight etc. But its easy enough to load/fire, its aim is accurate, and it is quite capable of causing serious damage.

What is the "brand" of crossbow you have? I've been dying to get one but I'm on a budget.

Ha - that's the one I've had bookmarked for a while. I wanted it for Xmas last year, but my husband thought it was a bad idea. I only want to play with it. Target practice & that.

When I was little, my dad taught us (brothers & sister) to shoot with an air-rife with the butt sawn down so that we could manage it.

I was Anne Oakley. Probably can't see well enough to shoot so accurately these days.

The bolts (arrows) that he's using in the vid are the ones that come with it, and they aren't very good.

I got some longer and heavier all-metal bolts that are far more lethal.
