Roaches don't filter the smoke but they do allow it to flow, and smoke condenses in cylinders. A good roach also stops the joint from dissolving in your mouth or burning your lips when you chase that last elusive toke.Roll your joint with the roach already inside (conical end facing outward) and let the card spring out a little to allow the smoke to flow.
The Tulip Joint
Greetings from Amsterdam
An Amsterdam specialty, the tulip is often found (usually half-smoked) in the hands of an unconscious tourist. A good tulip is deceptively smooth to smoke and easier to roll than it looks.
Make a roach about the length and diameter of a pencil and seal it with a couple of large papers.
Take two more large papers and stick them together to form a square with gummed strip running along one side.
Fold corner A over to corner B to form a triangle, leaving the gummed strip uncovered.
Wet the strip and fold it over to seal the triangle. You should now have something resembling a flatenned paper cone.
Open up the cone and tightly pack it with layers of carefully blended mix.
Gently crimp together the excess paper at the end of the cone.
Place the roach in the centre of the cone, using the crimped paper to hold it in position.
Finally, secure the roach by tying thread around the crimped paper, (a rubber band works well too) keeping everything as tight as possible.

Rolling a Joint
Rolling a joint is easy, rolling a perfect joint also, if you put a little bit of time in it.
Making a normal Joint is simple. I can only give some advice about it.
Make sure you spread the tobacco good. A bit more at the end than in the beginning and almost the same width as your paper. Just a thin layer of tobacco. Put your weed in a line in the middle of the tobacco. This way, when you start rolling, the tobacco falls around the weed and your joint will burn perfectly.
When closing the paper is no problem for you, its smart to let the roach stick out a little bit a leave a little gap between the roach and the tobacco. This way you will have no tobacco under your roach. When your ready rolling you can push the roach in.
Making a Super joint
A Super joint is the hardest one to make because its to big to hold in your hands. That's the only problem to it. When your rolling a lot of your tobacco-marijuana mixture will fall out. Just roll above a table and let it fall out. The only important thing is that you close the paper good, you can put the mixture back in later.
One thing that can help is that you close first one piece of paper, the one in the beginning of the Joint. after that you can close the other one.
Tips
Tip: If you put down your tobacco, spread it a little bit so if you start rolling your Joint, it will fall around your marijuana and burn it better.
Tip: Get some good quality Rolling paper and make sure your roach isn't to narrow. Its nicer to make it a little bit wider. Makes the smoking nicer.
Tip: I never put weed at the end of the joint because I don't like to smoke the end, now I can throw it away.
Tip: When your ready rolling the joint, tap it a few times on the table so it gets a bit more tight. It will let your Joint burn better.
Making a Tulip joint
A tulip will get you totally stoned, success guaranteed.
The funny thing with a Tulip is that it will burn till its dead. There is no way to put it aside and finish it later. So don't
roll it when you just want to get a bit stoned.
Take two papers and stick them together (1), fold it and stick it together again so you will get a pointy bag (2). Make a mixture of tobacco and weed and fill the bag with it and close it (3).
Take a piece of thick paper, same length as an rolling paper and make a pipe out of it. Role a piece of rolling paper around it and stick it together (4).
Take another piece of rolling paper and cut off the sticky part (5) We will use it to connect the tulip (3) to the Pipe (4)
Open the bag and put the pipe in the mixture of tobacco and weed. Now you get the hard part. Wrap the paper of the bag around the pipe and tape it with the piece of rolling paper you cut off. The problem can be that this piece of paper breaks, so don't make it to wet.
Time to get stoned.
Okay, I've made a super tulip joint a number of years ago. Here's a few pic's of it ...
