I wonder if you believed in past lives whether that would have any bearing on what we pick? If you do, then most of the posters so far....been there, done that...ain't goin' back!

Now too, like a lot of others said. We've a better standard of living, generally speaking, than many of our ancestors, and the overlords were more overtly vicious in the past too.

Find out first-hand what they were really like.

There are many periods I would like to be able to visit for a short time but actually living there would be a different thing entirely.
Not least for the insanitary conditions you would have to adjust to.

Me too, feather! I sometimes describe myself as an "old-fashioned girl" and in many ways I am. I'm interested in the Regency/Georgian periods, plus the ancient Greek and Roman times, and also the English Civil War. I'd love to "pop back" for a visit (and to wear the wonderful clothes!) but frankly I don't do well anywhere that doesn't have decent bathroom facilities! :D

18 century (and even slightly later) France or England but only if I'd been rich.

Lot's of exquisite dresses... sewing during the day... afternoon strolls in the stunning gardens... house full of fabulous objects of desire from far and wide... secret loves that only corresponded via wax sealed letters... dangerous liasons as a result... and a highwaywoman by night through a secret passage way that led to the forest.

I haven't thought about it much, really :coffee:

Here and now. This is an amazing time to be alive, IMO. If only we could do away with all of the psychotic elite who are bent on killing everyone that is in the way of what they want.
