Aw, crap! Now the Aussies are spying on us.

Kidding! :P

Feather, I question my memory as well - so we are OK! A dear lady in her 20's who was sharp as a tack recently had a baby - about 5 months ago - I watch her synapses fire between the hemispheres now on occasion. It happens. :)

Let's just flop on the couch and hang out - the lot of us!

It's a settee, unless you're a soft southern shandy drinker.

Sometimes I use the word settee, sometimes sofa & sometimes couch, because veriaty is the spice of life. My parents called them settees - "If you don't stop using the settee as a bleeding trampoline, I'm replacing it with an orange box."

A Chesterfield is a particular type of settee - though there are slightly varying styles. They're deep-buttoned ones that often have brass tack trim. So now you know. :P :D

Ahh, an old man's executive cou....settee. I understand now what Chesterfield settee is. :)

My Auntie had her furniture covered in plastic - no kidding. The termites ate the house apart but that furniture was well protected.

It's a couch :couch:

... even though I was brought up with parents who called it a settee. It's all about rebellion for me :coffee:

Depends.....

I call the three-seater in the room with the TV the couch.

The two-seater in the front room the sofa.

The rest stay armchairs :D

Although really,WTF - ARMchairs??? Because those rests for your arms are really the most important thing right, not the part where you park your butt... >_<

It's only ever been a sofa to me back in the day when I was required to 'sofa-surf' from time to time :cool2:

It's a compliment to the British, I have seen some pretty nasty sofas in peoples houses here in the USA
