Cartoons are great aren't they. I remember really enjoying throwaway stuff like Scooby Doo but I've been wondering, have any of you actually gotten into the serious stuff like Thundercats, Battle of the Planets or perhaps He-Man?

I used to like Thundercats, "Sword of Omen, give me sight beyond sight!" I can't really remember any of the plots or anything though...Mummra was an arsehole, that much I do know.

I liked He-Man as well, Skeletor, there's another arsehole. I can barely remember any of the plots from that either :chuckle:

Ulysses 31. I know I liked it, very good, and strange cartoon...just can't really remember much about it :emb: It was all a long time ago.

I loved Battle of the Planets. Considering his level of incompetence I was surprised that Zoltar (?) kept the bad guy gig in every episode.
Thundercats was a bit after my time and He-man was rank.

Loved Monkey. Also loved Kung-Fu, The Water Margin and Tales from the Riverbank. No animation there.

The only thing cartoons taught me was that you can buy everything you need from Acme. :)

Then I thoroughly recommend you rewatch the entirety of Monkey irre, so that you may become truly enlightened. All those cartoons were disinfo, only Monkey gave us the truth!

Spoilers

In Gatchaman, Berg Katse (Zoltar ) is a hermaphrodite and kills him/herself and Joe (Jason) dies.

More spoilers

In Gatchaman II Joe is brought back to life, the new villainess is Gel Sadora who is also killed at the end of the season taking out Leader X (The Luminous One from BoTP) who reforms itself into Leader Z for Gatchaman Fighter where the whole team dies at the end.

I used to watch He Man and Thundercats. I do not recall Battle of the Planets though. I have vague memories of monkey from childhood and I recall a magazine giving away a dvd of it in later years.

I used to watch Action Force the cartoon which of course was GI JOE here. I recall seeing a trailer for a documentary about the nwo aspects of GI JOE which looked interesting but as far as I can tell it never surfaced. Now I see a live action movie is coming out.

You raise a valid if disconcerting point I-B

Do these disinfo cartoons actually contain programming that leads the eater of them to accept domination by lizard people?
