Is there any chance I could be a bird because I want to fly?

Or do we always stay in the human body?

Without negatives there would be no positives.
We would have nothing to measure them against.

Would we value life as highly if it were not tenuous?
Would we have a concept of good without one of evil?
Light works best against the dark.

If we were to conceptualize a method of acquiring all encompassing knowledge and understanding, (a long established aspiration of man), then we would have to experience all things from a variety of viewpoints. e.g. the murderer and the murdered, the witness, the bereaved .... etc Karma is an ideal way of presenting that concept.
It would also be impossible to cram those experiences into one lifespan, hence reincarnation becomes interwoven into the fabric of Karmic belief.

or sumfink, It's late O'clock. :umm:

Is it a reality?
I doubt it.

YaY! I'm in Bury St Edmunds getting the last of my things, so I have about half an hour online, thanks to the sister's talktalk. Time enough to put this thread back on topic. :D

No.

I used to believe in karma very firmly: that you reaped what you sowed, that what you did you got back, etc. In fact, my little novella The Crowd is all about how I used to see karma at work.

I started that story some fourteen years ago, but the ex then motherhood got in the way and I didn't actually get to write it out until the tail end of last year and the start of this one. I persisted in writing it the way I'd intended it at its start - and throughout I was astonished at how naive I'd been back then.

I guess years and years of seeing enough "bad guys and gals" get away with anything and everything (including murder) changed my mind that some mighty power would eventually straighten matters out.

No. I no longer believe in karma (or dharma). I tend not to believe very much in any spiritual claim or system these days (although that's another thread for another time. :D ).
