I can remember when my parents took my dummy off me and chucked it in the bin right in front of me. I have a massive tantrum and balled my eyes out.

and before the 70s - 80s dummies probably werent even thought of... much like shoving a fake breast in a babies mouth and thinking they get the same thing from that as they do from the breast (not starting the bottle vs breast debate, just saying). trends come and go, and people fight over them tooth & nail like their life depends on them.

The first child was the worst and hardest by far. He was so bad, I had to drip water into his mouth via a dropper to get him to drink it. He refused EVERYthing except me in his mouth and back then and even though dummies are something I frowned upon, I would've given anything to get him to take it so I could run away have a wee break.
