Yes, I'm not sure myself, but I think you can get barges in different sizes, and the narrow boats are similar, but narrow, so ideal for canal use. There's a tradition of painting them in jewel colours with floral decoration, and painting accessories like that too, like enamalled jugs & buckets & stuff, so that everything looks bonnie.
