This seems to be spreading round the internet relatively well, but I post it here in the hope patrons will assist in spreading it around to as many people as possible, specifically getting anyone affected by it on board. It's a simple, practical way of fucking up implementation of the bedroom tax. But it can only work if those affected act en masse.

The new rules allow one bedroom for each adult or couple. Children under the age of 16 are expected to share, if they are the same gender. Those under 10 are expected to share whatever their gender....

There are a lot of meeting going on regarding a lot of campaigns all over the place, so it's really worth googling around anti-cuts groups and the like in your local area. It's great to see the media helping by ignoring the emergent campaigns and protests.

Family blame 'bedroom tax' pressure for woman's death

The family of a woman who blamed the Government for her death in a suicide note said she was struggling to cope with paying the so-called bedroom tax, the Sunday People has reported.

Stephanie Bottrill's relatives told the paper she was worried about how she would afford the £20 extra a week for the two under-occupied bedrooms in her home - money she owed because of the Government's spare room subsidy policy.

Ms Bottrill, who died on May 4, left a letter to her son Steven, which said: "Don't blame yourself for me ending my life. The only people to blame are the Government," the paper reports.



He told the newspaper: "She was fine before the bedroom tax. It was dreamt up in London, by people in offices and big houses. They have no idea the effect it has on people like my mum."

Solihull Council Labour group leader David Jamieson, who knows the family, told the newspaper: "I'm absolutely appalled this poor lady has taken her own life because she was worried about how she would pay the bedroom tax."

It was only a matter of time, I think. Some of the people affected have lived for many years in these homes - raised kids in them, formed a place in their community - and the prospect of moving on is too much of a wrench.

But I disagree that the wankers who devised this have no idea what they're doing to people. I think they do know, but just don't care.
