If people are so willing to lie, then by what right do they complain about being lied to by the government, MSN, etc?

Ironic when many call it the 'truth movement' and yet are willing to lie and complain about being lied to.

Introducing a bit of fairy-tale magic into a kiddie's life, in the knowledge that it's only a brief bit of harmless fun is in no way similar to being lied to for nefarious reasons by the government or anyone else. No way your argument holds water imo.

I think it's an excellent correlation, people tell their children (generally) don't lie, steal, hit others.
Most parents will attempt justify lying to their children, a lot will remove their property if they do not please their parents, many still use violence against their children, exactly as the State does,
The State likewise will also claim that there are universal moral rules, while pretending there can be an exception for the individuals acting as The State.

The State is a mirror image of the family.

So say a child displeases by defying you and persists in doing things, for example, that are dangerous. If I'm right in thinking you wouldn't use removal of his / her property, or violence to deter them, I'd love to know how you think you'd tackle it. Because you can take my word for it that reasoning & persuasion don't always do the trick. I'd like you to tell me, because it's always people who've never had kids who apparently have all the answers as to the right way to raise kids, funnily enough. :D

I think by that point the damage to the relationship may be too great.

You have a responsibility to create a safe environment and in an emergency situation you would physically move the child if it were in danger.

If you think that somebody acting in a way which "displeases by defying you" is an excuse to use violence against them , or steal their property, I would ask you to seek some professional help, especially if you have children.

Never is an absolute ... apart from that, it would include the past and I have lied in the past.
