i reckon that s good since there s been big changes in upper management, management & technical staff... Couple of old boys to give a bit of continuity.
Hope this thing with grrrooney gets sorted one way or another soon it s becoming a distraction.

I can't be old until Ryan Giggs retires from football. I remember him making his debut when I was at school.

I played against him at primary school level, and he was the year below me, ergo I'm with you on the Giggs related youthfulness we have :D

Chelsea are interested in signing Luis Suarez from Liverpool.

They've offered Ivanovic as bait.

United have missed out on Thiago, which is a pity. Dunno if they were in for him or whether it's press talk. Anyway, according to the new chief exec the funds are there to buy Ronaldo back, which would mean Utd probably wouldn't need any more players!

He's about a million leagues out of Newcastle's reach.

I imagine it would be a bit of a blow to Barca if they lose 2 midfielders this summer unless they've got somebody else in mind...
and I'd be surprised at Cesc going to OT esp after pizzagate... he's probably just what United need though, but it does stick in my graw a bit having ex-Arsenal players as key men... yet it does look a possibility because obviously United being shrewd will have made some enquiries as to his availability and whether the player would consider the move before lodging a bid.
Leighton Baines is a possible signing, but that would leave United with Evra, Buttner & Fabio as additional left backs so it seems a bit unnecessary. .... I'd rather Fabio was brought up to the level of his brother with experience if possible. It would almost certainly spell the end for Evra.

WUB, are we doing another FF league this year?

Bring on the football season sooner please as well. :D

Fellaini and Fabregas for £50m(ish) is today's take, think it was the Guardian. Both have release clauses for around the £25M mark, both mid 20's so not huge risks but also an 'investment' (such is the MUFC way), both capable of knocking in a few over the season....

Fabregas's release clause will be way more than £25 million, more like £150 million. And Fellaini is a really good player, but the team needs to be based around him, which is why he's been so successful at Everton, and also why none of the 'big' clubs have made serious enquiries about him.

Yes, I will set up a new league as soon as it's possible to register. We might not get as many people as last year as I don't know if I can be arsed to post on the DIF to recruit people.

I still need to send Hugo his trophy, which is still on my mantelpiece and not rightly mine any more, so if you want it please PM me your address.

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether they'd prefer:

fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/

or...:

fantasy.premierleague.com/

I think both have their advantages and disadvantages having done one season of each.

I liked the Telegraph version because I won. :D

I liked the subs bench feature from the FA game but I can't remember if it had dozens of transfers available like the Telegraph one. Either way I'm looking forward to taking on you bitches as I fight to defend my title. :)

I preferred the first one because I think having eleven players with no subs and 30 transfers leaves you quite vulnerable to injuries and suspensions. The one thing I didn't like about it was that the captaincy plays too big a role, and you can change your captain every week, which I find ridiculous. I'll give it some thought nearer the time, there might be a limited number of competitors this season.

Yeh it was the transfer & no subs thing that I didn't like about it.... didn't it cost you the league? :D
Limited competitors = champions league. I reckon 7-8 people here will do it so should be ok ...

Yes, but I didn't want to change for that reason alone. I'm pretending to be mature and magnanimous about it.

Seriously, I will happily go with the majority.

Wayne Rooney 'angered and confused'

My fault. I shouldn't have given him that Where's Wally book.
