I just don't think a whole nation should be done out of a sporting event because some of them hunt Whales. I don't agree with Whale hunting. I also don't agree with Britain and it's pals invading countries for oil and stuff... point being humans the world over do bad shit.
It's fucked up.

are the olympics really that important though? sporting or no, it really isn't the most important thing in the world...especially if you believe its used for things other than an innocent gathering of nations. life is more important than sporting, for anyone...whether your british, american, or japanese. maybe until the world grows up the olympics should be stopped completely.

it is a forum mikey, but some things should not have to be debated, intelligently or not. we all get along better talking about the stupid things we think or how to crochet a pair of socks than we do about actual hard subjects.

again, as i said in a post up from this one... sports is a bonus to the human race, it is not that important. if the world has to give up the olympics completely to finally find what is important, than so be it.

Don't know what it's like on your side of the world but back in the 90's there was a phenomenon (I shall refer to it as this) amongst groups of mates to deliberately steal clipper lighters from others on a night out. It had to be clippers too, nothing else counted. I was one of the better ones at this and I'm proud of my work to this very day :D Counting your booty at the end of the evening as you pulled them from your bag and various pockets, was all part of the fun and process :D
It lasted for a good few years too and as a result, I ended up with a couple of hundred clipper lighters at one point :rofl:

So the moral of the story is this.... I will NEVER not have a lighter somewhere in my house :gleek:

No, that is not the choice: the original Olympics in Ancient Greece did NOT lead to the endangering of marine mammals.
Olympian atheletes are NOT reponsible for the loss of marine life any more than you are.

Saying that the Japanese atheletes have just as much right to compete intheir own country as the British did last year, is not in any way saying that one considers the sporting event more important than whales and dolphins being saved from cruelty and extinction.

And, to be quite frank, I am suprised that you insisted in pursuing that straw man as far as you did.
