This is a completely insane policy, but people don't see the bigger picture, it's essential to keep people fighting among themselves and invested in the existing economic system in order for this to continue.

I reckon its because those who worry most about immigrants taking jobs are unskilled anyway...which says a lot for their mental capacity in the first place so you have this feedback loop

i haven't watched nor am i likely to. From what I have read I have lived on streets/estates filled with similar people and stories. What programmes like this fail to talk about or show is the hows and whys.

Why can't they do a programme showing how people do try and make ends meet...like shopping at the likes of Asda when the food has been reduced to pennies, how people 'make do and mend', people who have to buy their clothes from carboots and charity shops. People who have to register on Freecycle or Freegle just because they need a bed or clothes for their kids.......

I've popped over from the DI forum where the debate around this issue left me quite depressed.
Over there seems full of right wing ,control freak trolls.
Good to hear all yer opinions.

Some of the participants have come over very badly, particularly shoplifter guy. Others as livers of a chaotic lifestyle caused by drink and drug addictions, such as Fungi. Others as opinionated and work shy, such as White Dee. Others are shown to be crooks, such as the Romanian family who complained about having no electricity to their landlord who pointed out it had been cut off as they were stealing it.

Then there are those who will come out of it well, such as 50p man, the people who clearly look after their houses and the Britain in Bloom campaigners. Some will be mixed such as Black Dee and her clever action to get the rubbish uplifted from the street. I loved it when she climbed into a bin bag and shouted that she should be collected as well!
