In its time of recent "rule", this government has revived all the isms and attitudes of Dickensian times. We hear much about the overt revival of racism (to the extent that a white policeman can smash his way into a black man's car through the windscreen, and face nothing harsher yet than "reduced duties" - erm, he should be under arrest for assault, battery, damage to property and a whole swathe of associated charges!). We hear of such discrimination against the sick and disabled that several thousand people have been "genocided" by the Tories (the figure is estimated between 84-28 thousand, but the government will only "accept full responsibility for the direct deaths of 3,700... and they are still not under arrest!). Sexism has never gone - women have never been given equal pay yet and they still don't get access to higher promotion, except for the odd "token boss". Homophobia, although a "hate crime" runs along quite happily no matter what. And ageism too - perfectly overt and met with the bog-standard "apology" which makes it all better:

I COULD be starting an M.A. next month at Birmingham City University..... except the government and the NUS have "negotiated" that the student financing will only be available to those "up to 60", and I turned 60 in July, so that's me out!
Name one group that is supposed to be "protected" from discrimination by "law" or "human and civil rights".... and you'll see it's not.
We've let everything go, on the say so of a group of Bullington Boys.
