Awakening my ass, lol.

"When the TSA was formed in late 2001, Americans who are now 18 to 29 were between seven and 18 years old," the report explains, "meaning that their flying experience has been mostly in an environment in which increased airport security and TSA screening procedures are the norm."

Indeed, it doesn't take long for conditioning to work its way in.

I would not pay that poll too much mind. 1000 is a small number and random is never that random.

plus
Not all of those surveyed had recent first-hand experience with the TSA. In fact, nearly half had never boarded an airplane during the last 12 months, which at first blush would seem to cast their opinions of the agency into some doubt.

The fact that half never boarded an airplane (in 12 months) yet think the TSA are doing a good job imho only speaks even louder how dumb these people really are.
I'd like to know if any of those surveyed actually never flew at all?
1000 is indeed a small number, were they from separate areas, specific groups etc.

If you're American do the people you know there think this about the TSA?

Well I have no idea to be honest. I am sure a lot of people would have to be told what the TSA is first. You have a point I guess but when answering a survey people will not necessarily be thinking too deeply about the issue. I don`t think it is a big issue to most people I know since they don`t to my knowledge fly too often. A lot (not all by any means of course) of Americans don`t fly at all or much and many only fly within the country. I think most people perhaps accept things happen because of 911, tightened security and the like, regardless of their views about 911. Often since being in the States(I got here in 2006) I have heard people say to me "since 911" or things to that effect. So of course it worked at making people accept but I would not say it makes them dumb. Sure there are dumb Americans but there are also those who go along with it because what else are they going to do?

If they're not dumb then they wouldn't accept it and they wouldn't approve of it.
They would certainly at least know what the TSA actually is...
