WASHINGTON – U.S. officials say the Pentagon is moving two warships to the Libyan coast, in the aftermath of the attack in Benghazi that killed the U.S. ambassador and three others.

Officials say one destroyer, the USS Laboon, moved to a position off the coast Wednesday, and the USS McFaul is en route and should be stationed off the coast within days. The officials say the ships, which carry Tomahawk missiles, do not have a specific mission. But they give commanders flexibility to respond to any mission ordered by the president.

The destroyers have crews totaling about 300. There have been four destroyers in the Mediterranean for some time. These moves will increase that to five.

Officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss troop movements.

Right now, if this be true, I think they are positioning themselves to be ready if and when needed. Sats can easily view things so.....it's possible these guys are going to hang out and watch from a street level.

Sure hope one of them is not attacked, and I really mean that.

USA has been itching for any excuse to get into it with Iran, this may be it, although I always thought China was next...via proxy war a la the Russian-Afghan war of the 80's.

Hear me out about a thought that just came to me: It's September; the new government fiscal year 2013 starts in October, and lest we forget, USA is in the middle of a campaign for the presidency.

Oh yeah, and all this stuff comes to pass and light September 12th.

I don't know about indefinitely, but it's just so blatantly obvious that whoever gets in next will just be another figurehead with just enough, or perhaps more than that, intelligence to carry on the agenda of tightening the screws in this country.
