It was only a matter of time before a new excuse was made/brought up to kill people...
And people wonder why I am ashamed to admit where I come from
I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood
and I have no problem with going out the same way

90 to 1 is a staggering result. These people belong in padded cells, for everybody's safety.

I don't think it can be classed as a democracy when they're not representing the man in the street. :(

Although that's damn close to full consensus from those assembled.

Did they vote for themselves or just vote how they were told to.

I doubt half of them even know where Iran is.

I've been wondering...

What with all the gadgetry we have at our disposal these days, do you think it possible that things like the senate and their equivilant could be replaced now? Technically, we could all vote on anything and everything at the push of a button, really, so why do they even still exist?

I've had a rather natty idea actually...drop the price of i-faps a bit so everyone in the world can afford one (including those poor souls who actually put them together) and then we can all join in on a daily 'vote' about just about ANYTHING! For once, all this tech could actually be used for something productive.

Trouble is, things would change pretty drastically and pretty quickly, I reckon. Which is, I imagine, why it hasn't happened yet. Imagine what a boon it'd be for chipping and ID advocates!!

It seems a perfectly good idea (apart from the drawback of ID'ing you raise) but maybe I'm just jaded & cynical - if they ever agreed to introduce such a thing, I think the figures would always be corrupted somehow.

The usual Washington route I imagine.
Taking money from a few people so that you can convince loads of people you'll represent them, then tossing that dopey concept when you arrive and start cramming your corrupt pockets with cash from lobbyists instructing you how to take care of your real constituents/employers.
