It's just a matter of time, Gilly, unfortunately. This was planned a long time ago, at least a decade ago. Syria was mentioned as being part of the 'axis of evil' in May, 2002, so it's been on the cards since then at the very least. I don't like to be needlessly pessimistic, I hope some day people stop having the wool pulled over their eyes and put their guns down.

G'day Wake_Up_Bomb.

Indeed it was ...

Bolton: "Beyond the Axis of Evil"
John R. Bolton

On May 6, 2002, then-Undersecretary of State John R. Bolton gave a speech entitled "Beyond the Axis of Evil". In it he added three more nations to be grouped with the already mentioned rogue states: Cuba, Libya, and Syria. The criteria for inclusion in this grouping were: "state sponsors of terrorism that are pursuing or who have the potential to pursue weapons of mass destruction (WMD) or have the capability to do so in violation of their treaty obligations". The speech was widely reported as an expansion of the original axis of evil.

British troops could be deployed to intervene in Syria in the event of a major humanitarian crisis, the head of the armed forces says.

General Sir David Richards, the Chief of the Defence Staff, said contingency plans were being drawn up in case the onset of winter saw a worsening of conditions on the ground.

He indicated that any intervention would be limited and would need the support of people inside Syria in the areas where assistance was being provided.

Nevertheless such a move would be seen as a potential step towards a full-scale military intervention bringing British forces directly into conflict with the regime of president Bashar Assad.

"It would be a huge effort. We would be very cautious about it," he told BBC1's The Andrew Marr Show.

"There is no ultimately military reason why one shouldn't and I know that all these options are quite rightly being examined. but we are some way off."

He said he expected the humanitarian situation to deteriorate over the winter which could lead to calls to intervene "in a limited way".

"Obviously we develop contingency plans to look at all these things. It is my job to make sure that these options are continually brushed over to make sure that we can deliver them and they are credible," he said.

"The main thing for now that we are all focusing on is to contain the crisis so that it doesn't spill over into countries like Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey.

"That's our primary focus but that would also accommodate a humanitarian crisis because we could help deal with that through that primary mechanism. It is certainly something we have got to look at.
Would this be like the 'humanitarian intervention' in Kosovo, which was a total disaster and that declassified documents have shown that parliament knowingly lied about? Let's hope it works out that well again.
You mean like a contingency plan, lol :killinme:

Royal Air Force Set for Syria No-Fly Zone with SAS and SBS Troops on the Ground
November 10, 2012

Source: Daily Star

RAF Top Guns could soon be patrolling the skies over Syria under a new Cameron-Obama plan. The Prime Minister is preparing to use the RAF to enforce no-fly zones across President Assad’s trouble-torn country in a bid to stop mass slaughter. At this week’s National Security Council meeting in Downing Street Syria will be number one on the agenda.

According to Whitehall sources, British special forces are helping to train rebel assassination squads to target President Assad and his warlords.

Troops from the SAS, SBS and Paras from the Special Reconnaisance Regiment are in Syria helping show insurgents how to use new weapons and explosives.

Mr Cameron and newly re-elected US President Barack Obama are also considering military action and officially arming rebels.

The first stage of the plan involves a no-fly zone that will be patrolled by British, US and French forces. Safe havens will be set up in Syria, Turkey and Jordan.

A Whitehall aide said: “Cameron and Obama cannot allow Assad to bomb civilians.“We can’t go in and do it but we can get someone there to have a go.

“A lot of the Free Syrian Army are ex-soldiers, they know how to shoot but need more training from our Special Forces, especially in key signals and communications equipment.”

Gilly :spank: :spank:
So lets see we have " top guns "
"training assassination squads "
and of course the good old SAS & SBS but best of all is this Paras from the Special Reconnaisance Regiment..google the SRR.... :chuckle: they just had to fit the Paras in somewhere.
At the begining of October there was an ad placed for PSD work in Syria, it got over 700 replies in 2 days, only 30 odd blokes were required

I fail to see how this is a big moral conundrum considering they're already giving military aid to the Syrian 'rebels', who by their own admission are supported by 'al-Qaeda':

Yes Wub and I reported Hague to the local and metroplod for terrorism a few months back for that very reason.

sanctumzone.co.uk/forum/General/44869-Mo...e-above-the-law.html

The arms have been going through third parties which sort of gave the Brits and US deniability, I rolled me eyes because now it looks like they are set to drop the pretense. Now they are going to be openly supplying weapons to proscribed groups. Which of course means that Hague should be facing an even longer jail term. Which of course he won't, unless plenty of others do what I did and report his terrorist acts.

Do you honestly believe he'd face those charges if more people reported him?

I think it was a good thing to do, albeit, yes, it probably isn't going to make a difference in and of itself. I think at this point in time you shouldn't focus too much on outcomes. It's just about being on the right side. I've just been in my local chippy, and there were a pleasant bunch of people in there, but none of them is capable of standing up to this corporate fascist system on any level, either intellectually or physically. They will just acquiesce on every level to any social system that is put in place. Changing anything significantly is going to take a concerted effort from a lot of people over a long period of time. I don't expect it to happen in my lifetime. I expect to see a steady but sure degradation of society and culture in the remainder of my existence. I expect the poor to get poorer, the rich to get richer, and the number of poor people to increase.

It's just a matter of time until Israel strikes Iran. I think they're going to go the whole hog and pre-emptively strike them this time. I saw a US official being interviewed on RT today, and he was advocating organised Israeli-US cyber attacks against Iran, and if this is 'unsuccessful' there would then be military strikes. I saw this interview yesterday as well, check this out, these people are insane:
