Today’s 18-year-olds will not be able to draw a state pension until they’re 77.
That’s because changes planned by Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith will link retirement to life expectancy, The Sunday People has revealed.
The reforms, to be announced this week, will deliver a payment of £155 a week by 2015.
And women will no longer lose out because they have taken time off work to bring up children.
But the state pension age will continue to rise.
It was set at 65 for men after the Second World War when their average life expectancy was 66.4.
Now it is 77 for men and 82 for women. By 2056 it will be 84 and 89. Someone who is 33 today can expect to be working at 73.
Mr Duncan Smith will also roll most benefits into one Universal Credit.

Give them time, the gits will be introducing retirement-age euthanasia programmes to help us out with our struggling consciences in not wishing to be a dreadful burden on the NHS system and our kith & kin.

All i can suggest to teens now is stay away from wanting to do manual labour!

Thats a lot of years to be doing it.

Learn white collar skills instead.

Unless one can become self employed and have enough income to set up their own investments to retire on... not easy for many tho in this day and age, i am aware of that ofc.
