I think there is a tendency to react to "the establishment" as if it's some boogeyman that just jumped out from under the bed, it betrays a lack of historical class analysis, In Britain the Liberal Enlightenment and the Conservative Establishments coexist, with the Monarchy taking a back seat in actual governance for centuries, but it remains intact, unlike in most of the former soviet Union or various places in the world which have lead succesful Revolutions, France doesn't have a monarchy does it?

How is Brian Gerrish a neo-conservative?
I use it in a historical sense and based on the man's work and own words, he was a high Ranking Naval officer in the Cold war.
"The term "neoconservative" (sometimes shortened to "neocon") was first used to describe American communist intellectuals who criticized Soviet ideology. From the 1930s to the early 1950s, many conservatives were strong non-interventionists and the Old Right committed to the concept of anti-imperialism until the late 1960s when neoconservatives began to endorse interventionism in opposition to the USSR."

See how he completely ignores the above definition of liberal thats in the dictionary and instead reverts to bandwaggoning with popular mainstream definition thats in total conflict with it? :D

There is nothing liberal about any of the politicians Mike, they're all authoritarian. Any ruling elite have always been authoritarian or they wouldn't be ruling anybody.
If you base your political views on an ideology and not on reality then yes, that would appear correct.

When I use Liberal I mean the first entry specifically, all of them generally:

2.

4.

5.

^Thats the English one.

3. Free from restraint; speaking or acting freely; (in negative sense) unrestrained by prudence or decorum.

The first two pertain to generosity and education.
Although the mention of 'of noble birth' bit is eye opening in itself.

Go for it, try the test.
You'll end up in the top left corner guaranteed.
Its where Galloway lands.

Brian Gerrish would be somewhere way to the right hand side but along the centre line, perhaps dipping slightly below it.
Which is where Ron Paul would be roughly and the american CT crowd.

Hadaka Jimmy would be right at the top dead centre.

Myself and oi would be at the bottom centre-ish.

The usual understanding of anarchism as a left wing ideology does not take into account the neo-liberal "anarchism" championed by the likes of Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman and America's Libertarian Party, which couples social Darwinian right-wing economics with liberal positions on most social issues. Often their libertarian impulses stop short of opposition to strong law and order positions, and are more economic in substance (ie no taxes) so they are not as extremely libertarian as they are extremely right wing. On the other hand, the classical libertarian collectivism of anarcho-syndicalism ( libertarian socialism) belongs in the bottom left hand corner.

I thought Brian Gerrish was just a bloke who doesn't like Common Purpose, has inside information about them, and this is the primary focus of almost everything he talks about?
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

Absolutely right yep.
Ayn rand style libertarianism is in fact still statist, some would call it 'minarchism'.

Why doesn't he like Common Purpose?
I was under the impression he thinks there is a international Marxist conspiracy operating through the government, the EU, Social Services, The Courts and so on to overthrow British Legal Rights?
If he's not a NeoCon it's only in the sense his (perceived)enemy is not abroad but in his own country;)
