Somebody with some common sense and decency should have the clout and gumption to go after everyone in the court system who's sought to victimise that man, and see to it that they are the ones who are appropriately penalised - make a proper example of the fuckers so that other sleazes get the right message.

This really boils my blood.

Those type of power dynamics played out over the course of the sexual assault trial in the tiny Ohio town, where many leaders in the community — like the high school football coach — played some role in covering up the rapists’ crimes because that was easier than disrupting the status quo.

The scary thing about this story is that the guy is 100% guilty. But did the school say: "okay, son, the legal process has taken place. You're back at school now, fair enough, but as a punishment, you can't play on the basketball team, it's not fair on the girl who's a cheerleader who you sexually assaulted". No. The basketball team was too important. They let him go straight back to playing, and then punished her when she refused to cheer for him, and then a court ruled that the school was correct and ordered the girl who was assaulted to pay $45,000 compensation.
