"We're gonna need a bigger Gitmo!"
It’s almost hard to believe… Following on the heals of the Simpson’s Fox animated sitcom portraying a schizophrenic FBI field agent last Sunday night, word has broken from a Department of Justice memo that instructs local police, under a program named “communities against terrorism,” to consider that anyone who might hold to “conspiracy theories” or question the official 9/11 narrative, as a “potential terrorist.”
This move ads 9/11 “Truthers” and even those who don’t go so far as to question the entire official story, to the ever-expanding list of potential government targets. Those who express ”libertarian philosophies,” as well as the old standby of those who have “Second Amendment-oriented views,” and those who are interest in “self-sufficiency,” or might have “fears of Big Brother or big government,” as well as even those who make “Declarations of Constitutional rights and civil liberties,” have all made the list of potential terrorists in the eyes of federal law enforcement.
Ralph Lopez, writing for Digital Journal, notes that “in 2009, an uproar was created when the Department of Homeland Security issued a report describing returning Iraq veterans as potential terrorists.” This prompted public outcry that lead to Speaker of the House john Boehner denouncing this characterization as “offensive.”
Lopez further notes that “a newly released national poll shows that 48 percent of Americans either have some doubts about the official account of 9/11, or do not believe it at all.”
This would put nearly half of the United States in the category of being “potential terrorists” if agents are supposed to take this memo seriously. Even more outrageous, an FBI memo entitled “Potential Indicators of Terrorist Activities Related to Sleepers” explains that those who must be regarded as “considered suspicious” who might engage in “terrorist activity” include all who have an “attitude” which might give rise to” Conspiracy theories about Westerners.” The memo explains that this could even include conspiracy theories about “the CIA” and any involvement they might be thought to have in having “arranged for 9/11 to legitimize the invasion of foreign lands.”
