I think the UK has better rock music, not that we don't also have great stuff in the US.

Obviously my dad's generation of music was better than mine.

The UK has been pretty good at taking music from the US, repackaging it, then selling it back to them.

Good stuff man!! I agree, I think Perfect Strangers is one of their best albums and I really like KAYBD, and the great double entendre lyrics. "A common, cunning linguist, a master of many tongues" That's a great song to play along with, and great to solo with the F# minor pentatonic.

I like the classic stuff, Highway Star, Woman From Tokyo, Hush, all of that. I find playing Smoke on the Water with the 3 "open" strings in standard tuning (D, G and B) sounds the best. ;) Lord was 71, he outlasted a lot of other guys from that era. No one should be dying from cancer anymore....

Im not so American that I can't admit when we have been outdone.

So for old school rock the Gold Medal goes to the UK... :uk:

I just don't think we can top Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath.

Metallica might be just a lil bit better than Iron Maiden due to their first 4 classic albums but idk....

I also enjoy other non rock UK artist, Phil Collins & Genesis, Billy Ocean, David Bowie ect...
